A quiet Sunday Afternoon at home

It is Sunday afternoon and only 40degrees outside..brrr....with a seriously cold North wind that is brutal. The girls & I are drinking hot chocolate..yummy...we just got finished playing a game of apples to apples. The oldest is at work herding cows at the rodeo arena this afternoon....good money and HARD WORK..but he is up to it...shoot he enjoys it. We are starting school back up tomorrow...the kids are SO ~~~~looking forward to school~~~lol...NOT...they are like can't we put it off a little longer...umm "NO"...you have a slave driver for a mom...and I'm gonna make you WORK....mmwwwhhaaahhhaaaa I shouldn't be complaining about our little cold front I have a friend who used to live here who now lives in ALASKA...can you imagine living in ALASKA...oh I think YES! ALASKA...but then I think oh alaska...the winters...not sure I could handle it...anyway she wrote me last night & they have a ~~BALMY~~ -30*...yes that is N-E-G-A-T-I-V-E 30 degrees....seriously how do you function at that temperature...seriously HOW?? I am looking forward to getting back to school in a way...we tend to accomplish so much in the months of Jan-March..then April hits & it is like...ok, I'm done....and it slows to a turtles pace. We are starting WW2 ...I think that will be fun...well not "fun" I mean it was a war and wars are not fun, but I think the kids will enjoy learning about that time period....We are also starting a unit on Oceans....now I really think they will enjoy THAT...I know the girls will love it! Okie dokie, I need to get some laundry folded(sigh) & another pile dealt with in my room..I so want the house to be decent when we go to bed tonight~ I just function better on school days if I wake to a clean house! |
