The comments from among the nearly 1500 fathers and sons who attended the Colorado retreats in 2003, 2005 and 2007 have been overwhelming in their call to continue proclaiming the Word of the Lord in Deuteronomy 6 and Psalm 78 as to the raising up of our sons.

5TH ANNUAL PARKER CHRISTIAN HOME EDUCATORS CIVIL WAR BALL

When: Saturday, January 12th, 2008, 6:30 - 9:30 pm.

Where: The Douglas County Fairgrounds Events Center in Castle Rock, CO.

What: At this Civil War era Victorian ball, participants will have a terrific time enjoying a score of different types of

authentic period dances – ranging from waltzes to reels – all taught by a professional dance teacher and set to common 1800’s tunes played by qualified musicians. Make it a family event with parents and children, ages 13 and over, all dancing together. The ball includes a dance class in the morning. Refreshments of cookies and punch will be served throughout the evening. Prior to the ball, from 5:00-6:00 pm, we’ll have an optional Pasta Bar Buffet followed by a formal introduction of the young ladies as they walk on a red carpet under uniformed young men's crossed swords.

Cost: $38 per person for the ball and $15 for the buffet, with a family early-bird discount if registered by December 1,

2007. Registration deadline: December 31, 2007. Register at http://www.ball.pche.org

Questions: Visit the website

Note: Since our youngest will soon be graduating and in college, this is the last year our family will be hosting the

ball. We would therefore like to find and train a new family to take over the organization of this wonderful event so that it

can continue for many more years.
