Pleased with our Phonics and Spelling Curriculum

I have been using the ClickNRead with my 6 yo for reading. He loves it and begs to do phonics. When they came out with a spelling curriculum, I had my two older boys sit down and try the demo to see if they would like it. They didn't like it, they loved it! As soon as they finished they, begged me to buy it. I did and they are loving it! The fact that it's on the computer works wonderfully for my computer loving sons. The boys love that it's interactive and they can do it on their own whenever they want. They don't have to wait for me to finish what I am doing before I help them. They only negative is that I sometimes have to help them negotiate about who gets to get on first. But that's a negative that I can live with!  Visit ClickN KIDS web site for more information. |

Spell to Write and Read

After much research, thought and prayer, I have decided to us Spell to Write and Read with the boys this year. I ordered it this morning and now I wait in anticipation for it's arrival. I'll be using it with my 10 yo, 8 yo, and 5 yo. I'll use it to refine the spelling and reading skills of the older boys and to start my younger one on his spelling/reading journey. As I think about using the program I have mixed feelings of nervousness and excitement. I have been told that it takes a while to get used to using the program but that it's well worth the time that it takes. I am praying that it will be a good fit for our family and open many doors to different worlds for the boys. |
