From the Heart:
This week was a hectic one for me.  I didn't do as well as I wanted is putting God before other things.  I missed my quiet times and jumped right into the day rather than spending time with Him first.  That is something that I'll be working harder towards doing next week.

On the Homefront:
This week was hectic like I mentioned earlier.  Monday we took our 3 yo for his cardiologist appointment.  Everything is looking great and they will go 2 years between checkups.  YAY!!!  Looking at him now, it's hard to believe that he has surgery for Coarchtation of the aorta as an infant.  God is so good!  After his visit we went to pick up the other boys at my friends house.  She invited us to stay for lunch so we visited with her for awhile.

Tuesday was our homeschool support group's park day.  The boys had fun playing with their friends and I enjoyed getting to know a new family that joined our group for next year.

Wednesday we did our library runs and our 10 yo's guitar lessons

Thursday our 10 yo had an orthodontist appointment and I had a hair appointment.

Friday we got together with friends for a "sports day" the boys learned about basketball and horseshoes.

Saturday - we had a cookout tonight with friends.  It was so much fun to get together with their whole family.  We need to do that more often.

In the School Room:
We aren't officially doing school.  We will start back the end of August but the boys are doing some teaching textbooks math each day.  Also I am sure that we could have counted the sports day as school as well as some other things that happened this week.

In the Literary Scene:
I still haven't started any books.  I am reading through Spell to Write and Read because we are starting that program next year.  But I am not reading any "fun" books at the moment.

Healthy Living:

Still need to start my exercise regeme.  I am doing well about not over eating.  Still need to work on the comfort eating.

Weekly Verse:
Deuteronomy 10:12-13

Now, O Israel, what does the LORD your God ask of you but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to observe the LORD's commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good?  (NIV)

Weekly Wrapup

I got this wonderful idea from Three Little Ladies.  I love it and will borrow her idea and post weekly wrap ups here each Friday or Saturday. :)

From the Heart:
I realized that I haven't been spending as much time with my Heavenly Father as I desire too.  He somehow got pushed back in my list of priorities.  This week I worked on putting Him back into the drivers seat and spent time in devotions and prayer first thing in the morning as well as tried to converse with Him throughout the day.

My goal is that it will become a habit to turn to my Lord for advice before I turn to dh, friends, and family.  After all He is the wisest of us all and knows me best. :)

On the Homefront:
In the garden the peas are over.  I am getting some zucchinis and yellow squash.  I caught up on weeding and planted some beans and late corn.

I found a squash dish that my guys tolerate.  I love squash as does one of my sons but the rest including dh could live without it. ;) I made a casserole with the squash, zucchinis, fried hamburger, onion, red mild peppers, garlic, salt and pepper.  A sautéed the onions, garlic, mild peppers and hamburger together until the hamburger was brown.  I then added the squash/zucchini and sautéed them for a few minutes.  I put them in a casserole dish topped with cheese and baked just until the cheese was a bit golden and served.  My squash haters even ate this dish and asked for 2nds.

We had a cook out last night and roasted hotdogs, Mt. pies, and smores.  Yummy!  It was a fun way to end our week.  :)

In the School Room:
We aren't officially doing school.  We will start back the end of August but the boys are doing some teaching textbooks math each day and we are reading books on WWW I because my oldest wants to learn about it.

On Thursday I got together with a friend to plan out Konos for next year.  We are doing it together and getting together to do projects on fridays.  We will start the last week of August.

In the Literary Scene:
I am in between books right now.

Healthy Living:

I need to loose weight but I don't want to diet.  I am trying make a lifestyle change in order to loose the extra pounds and keep them off.  This includes exercise and eating smaller servings of healthy foods. :)  I'll jump on the wagon next week so stay tuned. ;)

Weekly Verse:
Psalm 121
I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot be moved;
he who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, he who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord is your keeper;
the Lord is your shade on your right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day,
nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from all evil;
he will keep your life.
The Lord will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time forth and forevermore.
