Today was our first day of school.
It was interesting, to say the least.  Abby has 5 subjects that were part of the kit I ordered.  Math, Word Building, Science, English, & Social Studies  Yes, that is quite a load for a little girl.  But somehow, I think she'll make it.

She's zipping right through her math book, bc it's a little bit too easy for her, yet I do want her to complete it.  So, it's more like fun learning for her.  I didn't even have to read the directions to her, most of the time, bc she did so well deciphering the examples.   The tricky part about it is, they want the student to read the instructions to the supervisor.  Whatever!  We did work on it some, but, with her math being so advanced, she just speeds right through it.  I'm confident that she'll do just fine.

Word Building is a challenge... the part where she has to determine if the "a' is the long or short vowel sound is a little hard for her, but with some reinforcing everyday (part of the lesson plans) she'll do just fine with that, also.

Science and Social Studies will come later as her reading gets better.  It requires writing and reading, which she isn't quite ready for, so that will come in it's own time.
