Living the Life

Nov. 28, 2007 - I'm Scared.......

I keep thinking about the fact that this "school" year is almost at the halfway point, and next year my daughter will be an 8th grader.  Then high school........  That's what scares me.  I realize I should take it one year at a time, then re-evaluate, but "High School" is lurking near.   Now, my hubby has complete confidence in me , but it is a "Big Deal" and I don't want to mess up.  I've been "researching" this whole thing, I guess I really need to just talk to people who have "been there, done that" and their children went on to persue whatever they wanted. (Be it college, tech school, work)  I don't want to short change my kids.

So now that THAT is off my chest, I feel a teensy-weensy bit better!

My oldest is 3/4 grade (kind of in between), so I don't have any experience with what you are going through. But I can imagine that I'd be super scared too. No matter how much we believe in homeschooling, "high school" really puts it to the test.

We all have fears. And no matter if you were homeschooling or not, you'd still have them!
You've won the BFF award; see my blog.

followed the link from cahanbury - I have a 10th grader and faced the same fears as you are - also in 8th grade - 9th gr was challenging bc he frankly did not care - but that would have been the case no matter WHERE he went to school! Typical 14yo boy at the time. The Lord (lots of prayer) and some maturity have given us a much better year. And we are on track to have 13 credits by the summer. So just where we (um - he!) needs to be to enter jr. yr. Feel free to email me or visit my blog to ask any ?s or just for some encouragement. We hs through Highschool moms need to stick together bc it can be a lonely road. Blessings to you and yours, Jes
