Back to School Homeschool Supplies
This is the first year I've felt like we're "gearing back up" to restart back to school instead of feeling like we're "just continuing on" with it. We're year-round homeschoolers, at least we've always been in the past. But this new location has blessed us with some (mostly) nice neighborhood children and only one family of those homeschool. What this has meant was that we had a summer of friends outside playing wanting DD to go out and play, too. (Naturally.) So, we did take all of June off, most of July, and here in August we're been, as I said, gearing back up.
What this time off has allowed me though, was time to really take an "outside view" of our homeschooling. Assess both good and bad aspects of it and ponder on those. Thankfully AIM has made it possible for me to toss around MANY, MANY ideas, thoughts, possibilities to my dear online friend (she knows who she is.) Yahoo groups has enabled me to follow along with other close friends as they manage their family life and homeschooling, surviving all the bumps and bruises along the way. It has been a summer much thinking.
But, no matter what topic I was thinking on it always came back to "Thank God we're homeschoolers!" So it is again with certainty that we continue on this path for another "calendar school year." (As if there was ever any other option. LOL)
Anyway, Kim over at the Starry Sky Ranch is hostessing a Loveliness of Back to School Supplies and Lesson Planning Fair and it sounded like fun so I thought I'd gather up some of my notes/lists and share here! Some of these things are currently on my "to buy" list while some of them are things we already own.
