I subscribe to a LOT of blogs, too many to list here.
But I'll change this listing up from time to time, as the mood hits me.

Bento #2
With homeschool co-op classes on Monday and various field trips we do throughout the year packing our lunches is necessary. Here's where I share some of our lunches.
No, you didn't miss Bento #1. I didn't take pictures of our first bento lunches. I made those lunches in two Hello Kitty bento boxes I bought a while back. I was in just too much hurry to snap any pictures.
So I'm starting from here. These two boxes are two of the three that my dear ol' friend in CA sent me. (What a gal!) These fit easily in our small insulated cooler.
This was our lunch we ate in the car on the way to the Petco Field Trip.
Here was my daughter's bento box:
The two mini bottles hold ketchup and ranch dressing. Top left is "bear shaped" couscous with
leftover steamed broccoli for eyes, a snippet of a raisin for a nose and skin of a tomato for a mouth.
(I used the prongs from a corn cob holder to cut the skin and lift it off. Worked great!) Next to that
is some garlic green beans from our garden. Below is some baked chicken breast tenders.
Sushi grass at bottom of couscous bear to keep the chicken from rubbing it and destroying the shape.
The box below holds some cucumber slices, fresh broccoli, cherry tomatoes & a carrot from
our garden as well as colby-jack cheese and a container of raisins.
Side dish of fresh-cut apples sprinkled with cinnamon & sugar.
Here was my box:
Top left was leftover steamed peas in a cupcake liner. (I desperately need to acquire some silicone liners!)
Next to the was a few apple slices, colby-jack cheese, cherry tomatoes and cuke slices.
The other section of the bento box contained my oven-baked chicken breast tenders. (I had one leftover that didn't get eaten.)
The small container on the right had freshly boiled garlicy edamame to snack on.
I saw some nifty liners in someone else's bento lunch photo and wondered what they used vs cupcake liners. This whole bento lunch thing cracks me up. Bug and I were looking at some blogs that are based totally on this idea. We just thought it was lunch like Grandma makes. Who knew it was a trend?
