One of the things my daughter enjoys the most about her history lessons is her notebooking pages. She makes things, draws things, narrates, does mapwork, etc. all week long. Throughout the week she adds these items to her notebook pages .

We use a ProClick Binding machine to bind up her notebooks. (and many many other things!)
This week's notebook pages contain
-
a comparison of "Charlemagne's Empire" and some countries that make up that area today. (maps provided by the Tapestry of Grace year 2 map aid disk) She colored the maps and filled out the key.
-
an oral narration of my daughter's that I typed up
-
-
an illustration of Pepin the Short getting crowned by the Pope to be King of the Franks (LOL, the papal hat looks a bit like an elf's hat!) with caption
-
an oral narration about King Egbert that i typed up
-

These notebooks are added to each week. We affectionately call this style of notebook "The Big Book of Everything: History" (or BBOE for short.) Just a silly name that by best online friend, Kay, and I came up with.... with a slight tip of the hat to the "Stanley" cartoon. Her daughter, who also uses Tapestry of Grace, but currently year one, also makes fabulous BBOE pages!
Anyway, with the ProClick binding system we're able to add pages as we go along, without all that bulk of 3-ring binders! |
WOW
Will check back regularly to get ideas for our notebooks.
Blessings,
Amy
