**I had this blog all written up, complete with humor and photos, first thing this morning, but mommy duty called and by the time I got back to the computer this evening, my browser had crashed, thus losing all my work. So this is the revised/abbreviated version, but this time with new baby stats!**
I promise-- soon I'll be blogging about homeschooling again, as it DOES continue on-- like DD (now 12yo!) asking if she can do some Logic Spiders mazes on the PC (it wasn't on her assignment sheet), to which I said, "yes! of course"-- but for now...
Today marks a one month birthday for our little baby "G"! My, how time flies! On one hand it seems like it was just last week we welcomed her into our world, everything feeling so new and marvelous. On the other hand, it seems she's been with us for ages already, with her fitting right into our lives, blessing us so much. But, one month it is. And what a month it has been!
So here's the past month in pictures. (My apologies to those that have already seen some/all of these photos via emails.) Since this is the second time I've written this blog, though, don't be looking for anything to make you chuckle.
4th of July-

And the 4th of July festivities on base was her first official outing, in the sling no less! This sling is actually the one I made for Daddy.

and a close-up because she's so cute!

Miscellaneous pic:

First real bath, after her umbilical stump fell off--

and dressed afterwards (outfit made by me-- tshirt is an appliqued upcycled tshirt of Daddy's, pants are made from baby rib knit with a Kwiw Sew Baby pattern. There is also a hat and a pair of cloth "shoes" to match. All are appliqued w/ a fairy fabric I got in a fat quarter swap from the QNM2 quilting list I'm on. There is LOTS of "growing room" in the whole outfit. LOL)

Us trying out a "wrap style" baby carrier...

Today baby "G" had her one month doctor visit. Nothing out of the ordinary to report. She's growing happily and healthy on breastmilk. She now weighs 11.8 pounds and is 22.75" long now! She's definitely a noisy baby, lots of grunting and groaning and general baby noises. We've gotten into a pretty regular "schedule" with nursing on demand (about every 3-3.5 hours) and co-sleeping (we side-car her crib to our queen size bed.) Baby wearing is definitely a MUST for us, as she just loves being held.
Here's another picture, one of my favorite for this month. It's currently the avatar I use for one of the parenting forums I frequent.

and us with the same sling (mine) in color:

And from just a couple days ago... this photo shows of baby "G" with her curly locks after a bath!

And my Seester came to meet baby "G" last week...

And finally-- any given time of the day Baby "G" can usually be found laying against me while/after burping, taking a nap, hanging out, etc...
