Jul. 2, 2009 - Face Book

Posted in Misc.

I have missed blogging as much and keeping up with my blogging friends and just wanted to let you know that facebook is to blame!    I love blogging and I love facebook.  I have caught up with so many old friends and even relatives!  It is great.  But it is also a big time consumer if I am not careful, especially since I like to play Farmtown!!!  Anastasia and I play together.  She is not old enough to have her own facebook yet so she plays on Jay's account because he won't ever play those games!  LOL

So I am going to get back to regularly posting and participating I am excited that homeschool blogger is taking on a new and easier format for our blogs.  There are just so many hours in the day and I am trying to balance everything.

But if you are on facebook look me up!

Jul. 1, 2009 - Blog Award

Posted in Misc.

Lexi on her blog  Going against the Grain  was so kind and gave me a blog award.  Thanks!!  (Sorry it took me so long to accept and post it)

This reward comes with some rules and here they are:

1) Accept the award, post it on your blog together with the name of the person who has granted the award, and his or her blog link.
2) Pass the award to 15 other blogs that you’ve newly discovered. Remember to contact the bloggers to let them know they have been chosen for this award.

I will try hard to think of 15 other blogs to pass on the award.  Here's my list so far:

1) Holly Hills Academy

2)   50 Chubby Toes

3)   Homeschooling 3 in Tennessee

Ok so my list is not very big so far but I wanted to get this posted at least.  I will add more.

Jun. 18, 2009 - What's been going on with us....

Posted in Misc.

Here is a little catch up to this crazy but great summer so far:

Jay is finally done working at UOP  we are so excited!!!  He is full time at the church now and loves it.  His first full week was filled with VBS!!  That kept us hoping all week and he is in his last class and will graduate in July.  These next weeks he will be getting his schedule all set up.  It is great him having praise band practice here I love listening to it.

I am finally getting some energy back.  That is another reason I have not been blogging is I have been so tired from this pregnancy but I am slowly getting my energy back and all is going well.  We are looking forward to July 6th,  that is the ultra sound date and Jay's last day of class!  Whoo hoo.

We also had a great but all to short visit this past weekend with Uncle Welton and GG.  We were so excited to see them and visit but I am bummed I did not get any pictures especially of them with the kids.  So I guess they will have to just join us at Disneyland in September!!!!  (No pressure!)

Well I need to go tuck some kiddos in bed.  I will keep trying to post more regularly.

(June 20th) I also wanted to add we have been going swimming and to the summer movies.  I haven't got really any good pics of swimming cause I have been too busy chasing kiddos.    We have really enjoyed the movies.  Our favorite has been Nim's Island.  We had never seen it before and I have to say it is one of the best family movies I have seen in a long time.

Jan. 31, 2009 - My Music

Posted in Misc.

Just FYI if you want to turn off my music the play list is at the bottom of the page.  You can scroll all the way down and turn it off.  The "HO HO HO and jingle bells" is coming from my santa slide show.  I love this slide show but don't know how to turn off the sound.  Maybe when it gets pushed to another page you won't hear it on the front page.

Sep. 22, 2008 - First Day of Fall??????

Posted in Misc.

Today is the first day of fall????  I am sure the rest of the county is enjoying it but someone needs to tell the state of Arizona that fall is here. It was 102' today.  I am so ready for cooler weather and want to start enjoying fall things but it is so hot out still.  Hopefully it will cool off soon and we can start enjoying the outdoors again!!  Isn't that picture beautiful?  I want to visit a place like that sometime and see all the changing leaves.

Happy Autumn!

Sep. 11, 2008 - September 11th

Posted in Misc.

'We will be flying all flags at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Thursday, September 11, 2008.

By a joint resolution approved December 18, 2001 (Public Law 107-89), the Congress has designated September 11 of each year as "Patriot Day."  On Patriot Day, we cherish the memory of the thousands of innocent victims lost, extend our thoughts and prayers to their families, and honor the heroic men and women who risked and sacrificed their lives so others might survive.

The President of the United States of America has called upon the Governors of the United States and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, as well as appropriate officials of all units of government, to direct that the flag be flown at half-staff on Patriot Day.  He also called upon the people of the United States to observe Patriot Day with appropriate ceremonies, activities, and remembrance services, to display the flag at half-staff from their homes on that day, and to observe a moment of silence beginning at 8:46 A.M. eastern daylight time to honor the innocent Americans and people from around the world who lost their lives as a result of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

 MEET ME IN THE STAIRWELL'

You say you will never forget where you were when
you heard the news On September 11, 2001.
 Neither will I.

I was on the 110th floor in a smoke filled room
with a man who called his wife to say 'Good-Bye.' I
held his fingers steady as he dialed. I gave him the
peace to say, 'Honey, I am not going to make it, but it
is OK..I am ready to go.'

I was with his wife when he called as she fed
breakfast to their children. I held her up as she
tried to understand his words and as she realized
he wasn't coming home that night.

I was in the stairwell of the 23rd floor when a
woman cried out to Me for help. 'I have been
knocking on the door of your heart for 50 years!' I said.
'Of course I will show you the way home - only
 believe in Me now.'

I was at the base of the building with the Priest
ministering to the injured and devastated souls.
I took him home to tend to his Flock in Heaven. He
 heard my voice and answered.

I was on all four of those planes, in every seat,
with every prayer. I was with the crew as they
were overtaken. I was in the very hearts of the
believers there, comforting and assuring them that their
 faith has saved them.

 I was in Texas , Virginia , California , Michigan , Afghanistan ...
I was standing next to you when you heard the terrible news.
 Did you sense Me?

I want you to know that I saw every face. I knew
every name - though not all know Me. Some met Me
for the first time on the 86th floor.

Some sought Me with their last breath.
Some couldn't hear Me calling to them through the
smoke and flames; 'Come to Me... this way... take
my hand.' Some chose, for the final time, to ignore Me.
 But, I was there.

I did not place you in the Tower that day. You
may not know why, but I do. However, if you were
there in that explosive moment in time, would you have
 reached for Me?

Sept. 11, 2001, was not the end of the journey
for you. But someday your journey will end. And I
will be there for you as well. Seek Me now while I may
be found. Then, at any moment, you know you are
 'ready to go.'

I will be in the stairwell of your final moments.

 God

Aug. 30, 2008 - WOW!

Posted in Misc.

This year's elections are going to be historic!!  Way to go John McCain for chosing such a godly, prolife canidate. I am very impressed with everything I have seen so far with Gov. Sarah Palin.  I would have to say McCain was very strategic in picking her it definitely knocked Obama out of the headlines for a couple of days.  I was glued to the TV Friday night watching everything about her. Only 65 days till the election!  Be sure and vote!!!!

Jun. 12, 2008 - MY BLOG'S NEW LOOK

Posted in Misc.

Just a side note if you are looking for our baby story and pics- look on the right side and under "recent posts" click on "The Best Laid Plans" or just scroll down.

I am sure you have noticed that I have a new look to my blog.  I am so excited and love it.  I worked (I actually did very little except to tell what I wanted) with Ali from Missionfielddesigns.com and she created my wonderful new background and look.  I can't tell you how excited I am.  I literally stumbled across her site.  Ali is a stay at home homeschooling mom who does this as a ministry and to earn some extra money for her family.  She does great work and you can visit her site to see other blogs that she has done.  I have been wanting certain things and to change things on my blog but I don't know code or even where to begin on certain things so I was so happy to find her and just wanted to share with everyone!!

Thanks Ali!!!!!

May. 10, 2008 - The Duggars are Expecting Again

Posted in Misc.

Have you heard of the Duggar family?  They are a family that homeschools, loves the Lord and they live in Arkansas.  The most famous news about them is that they just announced they are expecting child number 18 in January of next year!!!!  I can't imagine as I can hardly believe we are getting ready for number 5.  I must say though I enjoy reading about and watching this family.  They have done some specials on the Discovery Channel.

Some people get so emotional and upset when hearing about this family but I don't understand it.  They are not telling everyone else to go and have 18 children.  They took 3 years and built their 7000sq ft. house themselves and it is debt free.  So they are supporting themselves and trying live godly lives.  I think it is fasinating because there are days that by God's grace alone I make it through with my 4 blessings!!

May. 9, 2008 - A Question for you bloggers

Posted in Misc.

I have slowly been learning how to add stuff to my template.  But I have a question that hopefully someone can help with.  On my title "Planted Oaks and Little Acorns I want a large picture of an oak tree (like my avitar) and then the title to go across it.    How do I do this?  I have seen plenty of other blogs with cool pictures and writing across the top but for the life of me I can't figure out how to do it.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
