It's a Beautiful Morning

Posted in Mercy Medical

The trees are budding and the grass is turning green.  Spring is approaching, and we only have between 20 and 30 days to finish school.  Shh... don't tell the kids!  We'll keep going, just on an easier schedule through the summer.  They lose too much if we take a long break.  I'll still do math, reading, and music all summer long.

We have most of the answers we were looking for with Mercy.  It looks like we will stop all laser treatments until she is older and we look at what is left after the hemangioma disappears.  Or at least until she is old enough to sedate.  I will not put her through another time like she had before.  When she is a little larger (around 6 months... she is 3 months this week), we will do surgery on her eye to remove as much of the hemangioma as possible.  That will relieve the pressure on the eye socket, and hopefully create less pressure which will in turn not push out the bones so much.

We are changing our dermatologist to one who works exclusively with pediatrics, to follow the prednisone dosages, etc.  I assume we will go in to her in the next couple weeks.  After that, it looks like I will only have to go in every 4-6 weeks for them to track her.  That is so much better for my schedule!  So far I can schedule everyone on the same day, so we can make one long day of seeing all the doctors instead of going once or twice a week like we have these past few weeks.

So I am feeling hopeful.  Thanks for all your prayers.  You will never know what an encouragement they have been for me.

Carri! I'm so glad you have good answers and a plan with Mercy.

I am moving my blog over to blogger. I put a link on my hsb blog. I am just having too many problems.

Dearest Carri

I managed to read all the 'blogs'. You are so much better at this technology than I am.
I want you to know that there are lots of people in OZ praying for your precious baby. Me especially. I treasure all the cuddles you let me have with her.
