GREAT Budgeting Tool

I have been trying and trying to stay in a budget.  It used to be easy... I had my handy dandy envelopes and tons of time and could keep in my budget quite well.  Now we are many years down the road, and many more children, and much less time, and I have had a hard time.  Don't get me wrong, we are working towards being debt free.  We only have our mortgage, and are prepaying on it, trying to get it paid off.  So I am living within our means, just not within our budget.

This year I have been trying hard to get control of our finances.  I have tried many things... only to discover there are many ways to TRACK what is being spent, but no real equivalent  to the envelope system in a cashless society.  UNTIL I FOUND THIS!!!

It basically is a check register which also has an accounting log to keep track of which category the check/ debit/ credit card is coming out of.  So I know that if I have $100 in the account, $50 is set aside for food, $30 for school, and $20 for clothes, for example.  There are spaces for 12 categories... and also spaces for 12 categories out of the savings account.  So I even know how much is built up in the savings account for car registration next February.  It is truly a wonderful aid to your budget.

Please check it out!!!  It will really work!
