I quite often feel guilty at all I do not do. I do not have a spotlessly decorated house. I only have one bedroom painted, and another half done. I did two of the walls two years ago. I have never gotten back to them. I do not read aloud every day in school. I do not play games often with the children. There are always a multitude of things I do not do with them. Every night when I go to bed I vow to do better, and do some of the things I did not do today, tomorrow. It never happens. But tonight I realized something... eventually THEY will do them.Today Anna read 4 books to the littler children so they would be quiet while I was trying to assign work to the other children. When she was setting the table this evening for dinner she pulled out the placemats and set them around so the table was pretty. Josiah is putting together a bookshelf for me, along with the "help" of Hurricane Nate. Angela is doing the dishes, and Matt is folding the laundry. So, those of you who are swimming in babies right now... let them grow. Train them well. Someday you will look at them and realize that somewhere along the way, the things are getting done, and you don't have to be the only one to do them. Now I am off to feed the baby, because even though a lot of the day to day running of the house can be done by someone else, some things just have to be done by Mama. |
