We decided to set up our Passover table on the floor of the lounge room, so we could recline, just like in Bible times. It was a bit hard to stop the 1yo, Zoe (right) from wrecking the table, but we strapped her into her portable high chair! We had a lovely evening, reclining around the table!

Thanks for sharing your picture. We have celebrated the Passover in the same way many times. This year, for various reasons, we were away at the time of this celebration and I did not do it. I can't wait until next year. I make a really really big deal out of it.

About reading everything to the kids...yes, some of the stuff that is in the O.T. you just have to stop and think to yourself, should I read this outloud to my children?

But this is how I look at it. First of all the little ones, it seems to just go over their head. They don't catch it. And for the older ones that do, well, I think they hear all kinds of crud these days, from the news, from other children, even cousins. I can't shelter them from all the bad things they will hear about what goes on in this world, try as I might. I feel that these things that are in the Bible that are stories of awful things that happen, can reflect to things that happen today, in our society. But within the context of the Bible reading, it shows that our God is a soverign God, He is in control, even in the bad things that happen.
