Adventures from Our Home

Saturday Morning

It was late morning, close to lunch time.  Himself was at work and I finally got a chance for a shower.  I find a kids show on tv that we can all agree on and brief the girls.  Go potty now, don't open the doors for any reason, don't answer the phone, don't fight, be nice to your sister, just watch tv and I will be out soon.

'A' waited just long enough for me to lather up.  "Mommy, what are you doing?"

"I'm taking a shower.  Close the door and go watch tv."

The door closes and opens again almost immediately.  "Mommy, what are you doing now?"

This time I stop shaving my legs.  "I'm still taking a shower.  Go watch tv and let Mommy take a shower."

Once again the door closes and opens right away.  "Mommy,  what are you doing now?"

I stop shaving my legs again. "A, I'm taking a shower.  Can you please just let me take a shower?"

"Okay.  I won't come back in."

The door nearly closes, but she changes her mind and opens it wider.  She says something, but not loud enough for me to hear or understand.  Then she starts to pull the door closed

"What?"

She pushes the door open and re-mumbles.

"What?"  This time I open the shower curtain a bit and put my head out.

She repeats, "I said I won't come in anymore."

I've got to make more of an effort to shower when Himself is still home.

Sounds like a day at our house. Enjoy them while you can...it seems all too fleeting doesn't it? I also read your previous blog. I love books too, and oftentimes when dh and I get to go on a date we head to Barnes and Noble to peruse the shelves. I just hate paying full price for the books. So, I write down the ISBN number on the back and then go to www.addall.com. They you can see who has the book at the cheapest price on the web...including shipping! It has saved us a TON of money. Loved your blog - keep up the great work!

Blessings,
Lori

As difficult as it can be, it's so important to carve out those moments for ourselves. Recharge the batteries and all. Stop by my site for the free book draw. Blessings.
