Our perfectionist and over-achiever. She loves reading, playing violin, her Paint horse, Annie, being a farm girl, and History re-entacting.

is our dd11/6th grader.
Our "girls just want to have fun" girl. She loves to play and has a great sense of humor, but also likes reading, music, her Quarter Horse, Kitty, and History re-enactment.

Dec. 5, 2007~ Thank You Secret Sis ~
I received a large package from my Secret Sis - the Reveal Package! My now not-so-Secret Sis, Cindy, has been unfortunately ill - I HOPE YOU ARE FEELING BETTER CINDY! Through it all, she somehow managed to exercise her wonderful creative juices and send me an extra-special package.
The package was incredible...
Briming with all good things to pamper myself -- a basketful of bath & beauty goodies of various moisturizers (how I need that now with dry winter skin), and a handmade crocheted wash cloth , soap bag w/soap & back scrup; a Christian novel to read while pampering, and a cute ceramic figurines with the plaque of "To the Ends of the Earth Forever Friends".
Thank You so much for your thoughtfulness throughout our time as Secret Sisters! You are truly a Blessing. We have much in common and I hope we can continue to stay in touch.

Yesterday I received another sweet package from my Secret Sis. A beautiful card, some yummy tea, and a cute little package filled with hugs (not the Hershey kind - just hugs from my SS). I LOVE IT!
I thought the package was so creative, just a cute little box wrapped and the note says...
This is a very special gift
That you can never see
The reason it's so special is
It's just for you from me.

My Secret Sis has done it again. In the mail today I received a beautiful gift box with TRUFFLES and a cute card with her usual great letters! Thank you so much for blessing my day! I would love to sit down and have truffles with you and gab the day away. Actually, I have already eatten the truffles - except one that I saved for the photo (teehe). A photo will follow later - I can't seem to get the camara working and will have dh look at it tonight - maybe just needs batteries (but we just replaced the batteries less than 2 weeks ago). But if the camara isn't fixed soon, I'll only be able to show you an empty box and a card. lol

I just received another package in the mail! My dear Secret Sister sure knows how to brighten up a cloudy day! Just see all the goodies I received...
I don't know who my Secret Sis is, except that she must be very creative! The cute mug is specially designed with "Shh..I'm a Secret Sister!!" - love it! That came with some fun teas to try. And then a very pretty note pad - I LOVE sticky notes - I have them everywhere. A leather bookmark - I love books even more than sticky notes and have them all over the house - can never have enough bookmarks - and this one is sooo pretty. And then there are 2 recipes just waiting for me to try - hey, one is for a beef stew - doesn't that sound good right now? - and the other for cookies for dessert. And on top of all that, she made me (I assume) a cute heart-shaped plaque that says "Bloom where you are Planted" - I need a good reminder like that from time-to-time to scare away the "if only'.." thoughts , so I have hung it where I will see it often...
right in front of me at the kitchen sink (sorry it's so dark) - very cute!
And last but not least, a very cute card that says, "Friends are Like Pockets, You Can Never Have to Many!!!" I agree, I love pockets and I love my friends. Secret Sis, you say the nicest things! I too can't wait until the reveal so our friendship can grow. Thank you so much for blessing me today - and each time is see or use what you sent! YOU are a Blessing!!!
As many of you know, our Ladybug had a bad summer cold with fever last week. Well, thankfully, that has past and she is almost 100%, but she received just the nicest surprise in the mail yesterday...
This adorable card and a special tea came to help her feel better - from MY Secret Sis. Isn't that thoughtful!!! The inside of the card is just as cute. She used several cute cut-outs from fabric for decoration and it turned out sooo pretty. I have never seen anything like it - very creative!!!
Thanks Secret Sis for your prayers and the cheery card. It came at an especially good time as that same day her older sister got an invitation in the mail, so they both received something special.

Wow, I just have the sweetest Secret Sister!!! This was such a fun surprise! My photography (or lack thereof) does not do these beautiful potholders justice. I was just thinking (again) on Sunday how I really need to get some new potholders as mine are so thin. These are perfect! Do I dare actually use them though? And what a pretty card - and the letter, ohh, the 4-page letter - I absolutely love the letter. It's like we are old friends already. I think it's time to have a cup of tea.

ps - In answer to your question about what we do with the Mohair from the goats, the answer is: nothing. lol I had lots of good intentions, but right now it's all sitting in gunny sacks in our garage. If you would like some, I'd be happy to send you some (it's very raw though - unwashed).

My Secret Sis did it again, she sent a whole package of goodies...a really beautiful card, two neato Easter cards with chocolate crosses, a beautiful Easter cross ornament, a Beatrix Potter Candy Book (like the Lifesaver books), and a felt bunny to hang on a door or knob (did you make that?) -- very cute, everything!!! I love it! I'm eatting one of the Peter Rabbit candies right now (even though it is 7:30 a.m.). The girls love their chocolate crosses and each said I can have a bite. THANK YOU SO SO MUCH!
I received your BEAUTIFUL card yesterday!! (but then HSB was having troubles again, so I couldn't thank you right away). I love the layers of houses on it - so cute. Thank you so much for the special blessings and for the great recipes on the CUTE recipe cards. We eat a lot of rice around here - in fact I just bought 50 lbs. of Jasmine rice to have on hand - just in case. I can't wait to try your Healthy Brown Rice recipe in my rice cooker.

We have had a pretty good week, the girls were sick with some kind of cold last week that left them more tired than anything and then I had it for only TWO days this past week (it must have been your prayers). So far we have little planned for this next week. My birthday is coming, but I'm use to not planning anything since we often have a blizzard around this time of year. So far the weather forecast looks good for next week - maybe I need to start thinking of what I want to do. I'm not much of a partier - maybe just going out for dinner and ice cream (vanilla, of course for PlainJane). lol
Yesterday I received my first Secret Sis PACKAGE. (I would have wrote yesterday, but had computer tech. problems). Wow, what a TOTAL surprise -- I was just expecting a little card. Actually, it ended up being quite funny. You see, the delivery person drove it up to the house, but instead of putting it on the porch, it was left up by the garage, so I didn't see it until we returned home around 5 p.m. It didn't even dawn on me that this package could be from my secret sis, all's I could think of was that it was my book order - arriving early, so I was fussing, "I'm not paying for them rushing it to me!" tee he The return address was covered by a Priority sticker, so I still thought it was my order. So I'm opening it up and see the BEAUTIFUL calendar first, thinking, OH, HOW NICE, they sent me a free gift - but where's my shipping order? ( to see if it says "standard" or "priority"). tee he Then I realize, they sent me the WRONG ORDER! I got someone else's order. LOL Oh My! Finally, after seeing your writing on the cup cake packages, I realize it wasn't my order at all. (boy, am I slow).
Wow, we couldn't believe it! It was like Christmas all over again. The girls were OVERJOYED and everything was perfect! You sure have me pegged to a "T". The Folk Art Calendar was so beautiful - I wish I had some of her artwork, or better yet, if I could have some painting lessons by her! The cup cake packages are darling - I have never seen anything like those before. What a great idea. And the notecards and memo pad are perfect. I was just thinking the other day how I needed some pretty notecards - how beautiful & timely (+ the name of the collection is almost the exact same as Ladybug's real name). I am going to listen to the CD next, I have a dumb song stuck in my head right now, and I need to de-program. I can't wait to use them all.
I LOVE IT ALL! HOW FUN! Folk Art and Victorian/Vintage florals is soooooo me - kinda a split personality, don't you think? - but very me.
