Welcome Home
Jun. 26, 2006 - Goodbye Sunny

The gentleman across the highway from us came over this evening and asked my DH if we had an orange cat. William said yes and the man said that he had found one this afternoon in the highway. It was our sweet Sunny. He has never gone near that street before but last week we saw him chasing chipmunks in the yard so maybe he was chasing one of them today. My children are all sad and will miss "Sunny Bunny" very much.

My father in law rescued him from the woods in MS where someone had dropped him off. He was so little that he fit in the palm of your hand. We took him to the vet and had all of his vaccinations done and when he was old enough, had him "noodled" (that is what my kids called it! LOL). At night, he slept on the top bunk of my 6 yr old DS. He was just the sweetest kitty and was so pretty. We are gonna miss you Sunny!

I am so sorry about your kitty! I know how hard it is to lose a beloved pet...and cats are sooo cuddly, and loving. Will keep your wee ones in my prayers, that He will see fit to wash their tears away sooner, than later.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. It is so hard. Our dear cat Toby was a friend for 10 years and died as a result of an accident a year and a half ago. I still miss him sometimes. I hope everyone is feeling better soon.

It's always sad when you lose a member of the family. When our kids were young we always had a burial for the family pet who had passed on, and sometimes they would tell stories or things they remember about that pet. Then they would lay flowers on the grave and visit it daily for a couple of weeks.

We recently lost Fudge, a 13 year old white dwarf lop rabbit who was silky soft and very placid. She was a lovely rabbit. Our girls are grown now and the daily feeding ritual has been passed onto mum so I guess I'm the one that misses her the most - except for Nug Nug, her partner who was only two years old (replaced her former partner). After a few days I couldn't bear to see him on his own and went and got one year old Bunnie who is a soft grey dwarf. After about 3 days they became inseparable and now run around the large cage together and snuggle together in their small wooden house from the wind.
