First non Family Photo Shoot with my new Backgrounds!

A Friend allowed me to practice on her son.
And we did a shoot. Then I wasn't happy with the results and did it again today.
I am so very glad we re took the photos. I love the results from the second session!

Oops forgot to say...
These are NOT SOOC. I did a little bit of curves adjusting.  And they are 100% natural light.

And just for comparison here are a couple from the first session...

Got in my Background Stand

But it was the darkest day possible...
Took a lot of editing to get it this good. But I still think the colors are still off.

You Capture/Technology-Farmers Sunset

We have a farmer who is helping us maintain our field since we don't have the equipment. Had some fun capturing them. Isn't it amazing how quickly a farmer can prepare a field now. Just imagine how long it would have taken with a horse and plow.

It was to sunny but I think they came out ok for a quick 5 minute shoot.
This is one of my dearest and best friends who is expecting her 6th. Doesn't she look absolutely beautiful!!! Can you believe she is almost 40?

Also tried converting to black and white and sephia.

You Capture/ Red

When I saw the assignment red I thought of tomatoes, sunset, poison ivy leaves, but then I remembered my babies new wardrobe with lots of red outfits! So it was time for a photo shoot!

And I realize this isn't red, but pink is just red with a little bit of white. :)

You Capture/Fall

The trees are barely changing color in Kansas yet. I have no fall decorations up. But then I remembered my little patch of Golden Rod  near our field. So I decided to go during the twilight hour and see if I could get anything.

Getting covered from the waist down in 100's of stickers....
Definetely Worth it!

You Capture/Macro

This is a clock that my oldest son is making. It is very close to being done, but it doesn't stay running quite yet. But I love it's look and the shadows it casts. I tried to use my reversing ring but you basically have to have hign noon sun to get any kind of photos with it. And I had time to take the pictures at night.
I used my 50 mm and then cropped in in Photo Impact.

And here's a full view.

Space Cameras

If I remember correctly this is the camera that took the photos on the moon.

And these were used for different missions in space.
Sorry for the bad pictures. My dd was trying to eat the camera when I took them. LOL

You Capture/ Something you have never captured

Well I am a bit embarrased to say I have not known how to use the light meter on my camera. I have been shooting in manuel for months but was totally doing exposure by eye. I would take a picture, check it  on the screen and then change settings accordingly.
Well this week I am working on reading Bryan Peterson's book on Understanding Exposure and this is the challenge he had for us.
Taking the same picture at different apertures and setting the lighting with the meter.
I used a tripod for this experiment. (I will add my settings later after supper)

You Capture/Old Signs, Done by my ds 13

My ds  who is 13, wanted in on the challenge also. So we took turns. All SOOC.

Not sure if this is really old or not, but it looked old.
Go see more You Capture Signs at Beth's.

You Capture/Old Signs

This was actually a lot of fun. They are hiding everywhere. Unfortunately a lot are 1/2 covered by a modern sign.

First ones I found were a grain elevator (not sooc, tweeked a little)

Then I made it to Main Street.

I have always liked this one and think that thing on top looks like a robot!

And this is a old theater that is still up and running.

I just love old buildings. Why can't we build them like this anymore?
(this is not sooc I played a little)
This was next to this theater.
And across the street.  (not sooc either)

But these are 2 of my favorite old signs. In the little town I live in. From the history I have found the partner to Cooper Hardware lived in my house many  many years ago. This building is about all I know about him. I hear he was a bachelor.

My First Paying Photo Shoot

She is paying me a casserole/Meal. I get more practice and a night off of cooking. Works for me!
This was her favorite one.

I should have gotten her knees in it more.

Attempt at black and white. She didn't really want it b and w so I didn't go into Andrea's tutorial and try to do it right.

You Capture/You

First I tried a standard photo. But they were almost all totally blurry.
I saw this idea on popphoto but after several shots I decided I was being a bad example to my children.
Plus I didn't want to mess up my bed. LOL  (please ignore my bad cloning on the wall)

So then my children and I had some fun with the remote and trying to capture some jumping and fun! LOL

See more You capture self photos here.
