May. 25, 2009 - Abortion vrs. Enhanced Interrogation Techniques
The media and also the Democrat party(though really, what's the difference) are blathering about the so-called "torture" of Guantanamo detainees, but they really miss the point.
The Democrat party is in essence arguing that terrorists should not be forcibly interrogated, or have any harm to them, even if it jeopardizes American lives. The liberals are defaming the professionals in the CIA who have dedicated their lives to keeping this country safe. Even worse than that, a blatant double-standard that has existed in liberalism for a long time has been pushed to the forefront.
As I watch Democrats ranging from Pelosi to Obama furiously talk about our responsibilities and the importance of sticking to our morals, I think, what of the babies? What about their rights? The liberals are willing to give terrorists rights, but not babies! Such is the morality of the Democrat party and liberals in general, and to me, the word to describe it is "sickening".
Conservatives think differently. We consider the lives of the innocent unborn to be precious, certainly far more important than the inconveniencing of a few terrorists. Unlike liberals, we truly live up to our morals, by saving the innocent, and at the same time, respecting the lives of enemy combatants.
That is one of the things that has made our country the bastion of freedom and morality that it is. May we never lose it!

yes, a very muggy 76F!! 90? posh that is nothing to when it gets to 90 up here, we have a very dry, very hot 90, if you pour a cup of water on the dirt it evaporates in 5 minutes!!
what do you mean frigid winters?!?! -40F plus windchill is rather pleasant, then if it gets to 20F it feels like a heat wave. lol, what you have isn't even really winter.
yes it was me that said that about facebook, you have a good memory.
I am just sick of all this media about how wonderful the democrats are and how they do such fabulous things, they are even going to let some of those "poor terrorists that we kept against their will for all those years" out and back into the U.S.!! does anyone else see the stupidity of all this?!?! these people are unbelievable!!!!

My only understanding of the torture issue comes from Time Magazine, so the information I have is probably biased.
But surely waterboarding and other torture techniques are more than just inconveniencing? They are a torture technique. If these terrorists are prepared to die commiting suicide bombings against us, why will they betray their cause by giving truthful information , even if under pain?
Not all ends justify the means. If the world was running out of food, limiting the population growth of the world would be a honourable end (to prevent widespread food shortage) but abortion wouldn't be a justifiable means to do it.
However, I do think that your general point runs true. If the liberals are concerned (rightly so) about the health of terrorists, then they should be concerned about the lives of unborn babies because they are human too.
To play the devil's advocate, the Democrats probably think that they are consistent because they hold that terrorists are human (as do we) but unborn babies are not.
Of course, where do you draw the line between human and unhuman? If a baby survives abortion and is born, is it given human rights? Didn't Obama, as a senator, vote against a bill giving babies which survived abortion human rights? Do I remember that correctly?

Lol yeah, well you got me there, except when it gets that bad up here we head for the nearest lake...which is usually less than 5 miles from anywhere you are in the state.
pathetic doesn't even begin to cover it half the time!!

I still listen from time to time, my mom and I listen in the car sometimes too but my brothers get bored of hearing it cuz they don't always understand... he was talking about "put-put" cars a little while ago, that was pretty funny. I think when that happens I'll just buy an 05-08 truck.
lol that thing at the end of my posts is a traditional gaelic blessing, I like using it because I have a lot of Scottish heritage.

Well, I'm not sad that he died. I mean, its somewhat sad to think about where he was probably going...but all those babies that would have died may not die which is neato! Anyhow, he didn't do the abortions because he thought it was right, he did it for the $money$ Shorty shall reply to your email sometime in her lifetime, but when I do not know. Mwahaha. yeah Rush is ok, very opinionated to say the least, but at least he is respectful towards others' beliefs! it is sooo irritating to me when other people don't respect that you disagree, it's like if you don't agree with them you are a jew in Nazi Germany and must therefore die but first they make your life hell...
is your last name just that common? I have a town that's that same as my last name too!! we pass it every time we go through WI on our way down south. yeah the Scottish are just pretty much awesome, Irish are cool too though. the majority of my roots are just Scottish and German with a little bit of Dutch and French.
ok so if you heard about our lakes you have not heard anything! first we are not the land of 10 thousand lakes it is more like 15+ thousand. the lakes heat up pretty well, they get to about 76F-80F. Lake Superior is very very VERY cold though (trust me I feel in twice).
nasty, you can keep your bayous, I prefer forests and good clean lakes without all those snakes and gators. my uncle has a piece of land way up north and there is a spot in the middle of his woods that is so swampy it looks like a shallow bayou and it's really creepy, especially if I have to walk back to the cabin carrying all the hunting gear and in order to fire at anything i have to drop everything, sling my rifle off my shoulder, bring it up while drawing the bolt, undo-ing the safety, and then aim and fire...stupid bears,wildcats and c'yotes.

what are nutria? is it a snake or a fish?
yeah I've killed snakes before too, we don't have too many poison ones but since we live near the river there are some rattlers and copperheads.
I think you'd like going deer or small-medium game hunting.
and rifles are soooo much better than air guns, though air soft is pretty big with all the guys up here. but why shoot pellets that bounce off stuff when you can use a rifle or pistol and actually kill game or hit a target? |

there used to be a bounty on gophers around here and one person we know got 100$ one day becuase he caught 50 and they were worth 2 bucks a gopher!! unfortuately we don't have that any more...
that's too bad you haven't had a chance to do that anymore I bet it was fun!
so did you hear about the stuff Letterman said about Sarah Palin and her daughter??
....that was just terrible and quite frankly his appology wasn't worth a rat's whisker!

yeah I heard about Michael Jackson, it's sad the way things ended for him. what's weird is a week before he died my mom and I were watching some of his old music videos from back when he looked normal...he actally was kinda handsome in a girly sort of way that alot of girls these days seem to like.
I don't understand why they do though.....
