My Cheeries

Sweet Cheeries. Spring, 2007.
I never figured that I would want to visit California. Ever. But now I have a reason: California has Sweet Cheeries!
Their names are Kendra and Lisa.
I came to know Kendra through blogging, and when she came to the Chicago for an annual reunion with her longtime friends, I was graciously invited to spend the day downtown with her and her friends Lisa and Colleen.
Such cheery sweets!
When our conversation revealed that Lisa's family and my family would be in Kentucky around the same time, we decided to meet at the Creation Museum for a day, where the dads and all the kids could meet each other, too.
It was a great time. And here's a funny story: One of the staff members at the museum stopped us and said, "Ya'll must be twins...?" We looked around at our children to see which of them she meant, but after a few moments it became clear that she was speaking of Lisa and me!

Hah! But if Lisa ever needs a hair transplant, I'll be ready: if we took a hairbrush sample, I think we could verify that my locks are perfectly compatible with hers.
Anyway, given that these visits were a while ago now, I'm a little slow on blogging the friendships that are developing here, but I'm so thankful for them.
I expect that someday we'll find a way to visit our California Sweet Cheery Valley. Mmmmmmm. Sweet fellowship.
from Galatians 5:
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

I didn't catch it right off...what a blessing to have some California "cheeries"! :) Hey, if you ever do travel that way, and go through Idaho we'd love to have you.
It's been fun to catch up on your home happenings (I wondered how you were living in the midst of it...now I know you are off site.)
Do tell us what you decide for the bath, it's a great idea.
I think I'd like a line of hooks and hang everything up...soap on a rope, shampoo on a rope...conditioner on a rope....bath toys on a rope. lol (seriously though in our house if there's a surface, it's covered.)

How fun! I just got to meet a long-time blog friend in person on Tuesday. It was great hanging out at the zoo with someone I have respected for some time and get a chance to just chat
