Yes, I Really Saw It, part 2

With the Greatest of Ease. July 7, 2006.
I was there when he was born, but sometimes I think Elliot just might be from a different planet.
One day, out of the blue, he said: "So God must have to reach around with His left hand." And to demonstrate the difficulty, he flailed his left arm over to the right side of his body.
What?!
And then an echo from our Sunday service whispered in my ear:
"He ascended into heaven and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty..."
Ah-hah...
Sometimes I see how clearly he is my son, after all.
from Psalm 139:
7 Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?
8 If I ascend into heaven, You are there;
If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.
9 If I take the wings of the morning,
And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
10 Even there Your hand shall lead me,
And Your right hand shall hold me.

Yes, I Really Saw It, part 1

Hit the Road, Jack! June 17, 2006
I've always taken it as a rule not to pick up hitchhikers, but I honestly never considered the increased risk of pulling over in front of a jail!
from Acts 16:
25 But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. 26 Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyones chains were loosed. 27 And the keeper of the prison, awaking from sleep and seeing the prison doors open, supposing the prisoners had fled, drew his sword and was about to kill himself. 28 But Paul called with a loud voice, saying, Do yourself no harm, for we are all here.
