Ode to Toothbrushing

Posted in Poetry

Ode to Toothbrushing
Written and quoted often with great hope when my children were young.

After I've taken my last few bites
I'm careful to brush my pearly whites,
Each little tooth, and all my gums,
Cheeks, and roof, and tongue, tongue, tongue.
Then swish, and spit, and take a drink.
And then I always RINSE THE SINK!!

How wonderful!! I like the emphasis on RINSE THE SINK....that tends to get missed 'round these here parts! But, I really think there is a developing talent here. Thanks for the chuckle.

I'm in a very fun mood and since that was so cute, I just had to share it with whoever visits! Come on over and see the picture I put up to make you laugh.

Also, here's my idea- tell me what you think of this, I just put a message board on my site mamma1420 for classical homeschoolers. I put the link on classicalmamma too. Here's the link http://triviumacademy.17.forumer.com/ This one will be so any classical hs can talk together. Tell what you think. If you think this is a waste of time, tell me that too. Everyone can put a link on their blog to it as well. Jessica (I figured it didn't hurt)

May. 17, 2006 - Very Cute!

I had to come and see the Ode! Very catchy. I remember there used to be a song on some cartoon or commercial when I was growing up.
"Brush your teeth, round and round, circles small, gums and all,
a mmmm soft toothbrush mmmm mmmmm mmmm,
will keep your teeth healthy and stop tooth decay,
so clean very carefully three times a day,
go round and round, round and round.
Obviously my children don't quite appreciate my efforts to sing about brushing their teeth! Not to mention it is sadly lacking in house cleaning reminders! I will have to learn yours. Does it have a familiar tune?

I really enjoyed reading your entries. I like how you included a prayer at the end of each one! Blessings to you! Eva
