Stepping out of the fray

I was about to say I've posted twice in one day, and then I realized it isn't the 20th anymore!

Anyway, I think it's time to put an end, for the most part, to my involvement in this whole Chris/homosexuality/whatever debate.

I've already expressed my own opinions on this matter, and it would seem that everyone agrees with me. At least, everyone who has commented has. Although there seemed to be some communication issues at first. :P

As for Chris, some of my friends on here seem to be of the opinion that Chris thinks homosexuality is okay. I'm not sure if he actually believes that or not, but that isn't really my affair. The only reason I brought up the issue at all is that it seemed to me that Chris' original statement was being misunderstood. Maybe I was wrong. Either way, I'm sure Chris is capable of stating his own beliefs and defending them for himself. My goal was never to simply defend Chris, but was instead to defend my own beliefs. I'm only defending Chris if he in fact agrees with me.

As a final note, I just want to remind everyone that what we say carries a lot of weight when we put it on our blogs or in comments or in any similar venue on the internet. We need to make sure we're representing the situation accurately. Therefore, I think before anyone takes this debate further, someone needs to ask Chris to clarify what his beliefs are. That would go a long way, I think.

With that, I'm out. :)

I'll be gone all day but I'll read this over when I get back.

Thanks for your comments and this doesn't effect our relationship as friends, of course.

I'll be seeing you in like a week. That'll be fun, huh?

Ok, like I said, I'll be reading over this tonight.

As you will see when I post my blog later today, Chris had modified his statements to fit the arguments he received against them. This had caused mass confusion, and misrepresentation of "what Chris meant, said etc."

Some people seem the think this is a small issue. It is not! I am glad this has become such a big thing, because now I know many bloggers hearts on this subject.

Yes, it is interesting to see where everyones heart is.
God gives us these challenges to show not only others but ourselfs where our hearts are.

I can't wait until you see Eric's entry. A LOT of my thoughts are in there. We talked on the phone fore a while and I've already seen the post. It as a lot of really good points.

It might clear some stuff up once you've read it.

Chris needs to write another detailed post on what he believes.

I started this whole Chris discussion by asking Chris about his religion. Now I have written post about the Homosexual issue, and Chris’s “statements.”

I am not doing this to be mean, or to cause problems, but Christians are supposed to stand up for biblical truths.

2 Corinthians 10:4-6 says, “The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”

I posted this on my blog.

God Bless,

Re Tim: Chris must have a hard time getting his words down on paper. The reason I say this is because he did the same thing with his Christianity statement. “I believe that Christianity as a religion, is deeply corrupt and flawed.” Later Chris Said that what he meant was that the Church is Corrupt and flawed. The Same thing happened with the homosexuality statement.

Maybe Chris could say something about this when he comments on this post?

Hey Timothy... I see you've found a little time to blog...

Thanks for your comment. It was very encouraging.. I never thought about it before - being a "another page fan". I don't want my id to be because of LOTR, but because of me. If you think my blog looks like a fan page... you should see my room. :P

I am working on a new theme, new title... a new blog.

If this clarifies anything I'll just say what I've already said: Having a homosexual attraction is a tragic disorder, not a sin.

Well I am glad to hear you are not Chris's personal defender. I might have to come down to TN, get a ladder, and hit ya up side the head a few times... jk. LOL!!
I think Chris's original statement meant exactly what he said. I think he was just agreeing with you cause you made it sound better and then he wouldn't have to answer why. You and Sylvia just did it for him.
I am glad we are on the same page. I read the comment you left at my mom's blog. I get ya!!
Ok... now on to something much cooler!! Come to my blog for a contest. It is really spectacular!!
As Always...
