Morning Sickness Revisited • Jul. 18, 2006

Posted in Nurturing Mom

I know it's iffy to post on a day when the morning sickness isn't knocking me out, but I *believe* I have had some success by keeping my stomach full of protein and by using Shonda Parker's Morning Soothe.  That little tincture has taken the edge off.

I am also taking Super Mom and Tummy Tune-Up, but it's hard to tell whether they're helping or not.  Yesterday was a bad day, today is better.

I was head-down in the shower trying to keep from throwing up last night when my 5-year-old walked by and said, "What are you doing?" (Side note: we have no door on our bathroom.  Six kids and no bathroom door.  What were the previous owners thinking???)

I said, "Trying to keep from throwing up."

"Oh", she replied.  "Well, if you throw up in there, make sure you clean it up.  And next time, run to the toilet as fast as you can."

That funny five-year-old

Hang in there! I admit I've been very blessed and only had morning sickness with my first pregnancy, but I had it bad for 9 months, so that was enough for all of my pregnancies...

Clean it up! lol! That's hilarious! You've taught her well!
Hope it gets better soon,

Too funny. Well...your daughter, not you. I feel terrible for you.

Thanks for your kind post on Times Tales. It's always nice to hear success stories.

all of a sudden they get sassy, they get smart (not always good) and they get vocal. Why, God, why? LOL. I sure hope the concoctions you have are helping...bless your heart.

I need to search your site for advice on a 2 year old active boy that is determined to be in the same room as us during school but doesn't want to sit and do school. I'll look around some...

Next time run faster to the toliet, mommy...ROTFL.

Kids perspective - Jul. 19, 2006

When I was pg with #3 the boys saw me throw up frequently. It happened more frequently during a case of the stomach flu on top of pregnancy nausea.
Your post reminded me of the many months I would hear them walking into the bathroom and spitting in the toilets, mimicking me!
How innocent they are.
At least she has been listening to you!

Good advice! ;-)

Mine would camp outside the bathroom door calling "Are you awight Mama?" "You'll be okay!"

They eventually got used to the fact that I could only fix one plate, or pour one sippy cup at a time without running to the bathroom and whoever was left out would just wait patiently for my next burst of feeling well.

It makes you wonder how we make it! - Jul. 19, 2006

Or how women made it in the past while working the fields too!
I had been wondering if any of the advise you received was helping. I didn't leave any myself because nothing helped for me, so thank you for sharing how it's going, maybe it will get better!
Every time I am in that begining stage I ask my husband over and over, "how am I going to make it? How have I done this before? And how do women do it 5-12 times?" But I am now 13 and a half weeks and have not been sick for the last two days and am starting to get all giggly and romantic about babies again. So, I guess that is how we make it. The sun keeps setting and rising and eventually it passes. Thank you God!
Praying for you, Amy

Try Young Living Peppermint essential oil. If you are interested in it let me know. You can breath it or put it in tea to help with the tummy woe's. My friend is prego too and will be using it. I will let you know how it works for her.
