I like just about everything Nancy Wilson writes, so while up in the wee hours nursing the baby I’ve been catching up on her articles for women in Credenda Agenda magazine. This one in particular struck me as one to share with you. If you’re a mama who finds that your moods are affected by outside influences- specifically the weather- then take encouragement from Mrs. Wilson.

I like my change of weather but sometimes you just still feel gloomy. But I do make the effort to be cheerfull. Creativity is a blessing along with a good movie and popcorn. There are some good old fashion moral movies to watch on days like that. To bad they don't bring them back to regular t.v.

Isn't this true? Summer & sunny times carry me and often my attitude. Winter & gloomy days - I have to make an effort to plow my way through and find the beauity in it all. But its not all about me .... the kicker is shareing this beauty with my children. Even when things are glum and all I want to do is hibernate.

You read while you nurse in the middle of the night? Boy, I find myself just lying there, trying not to smother him when I fall asleep again accidentally. Although sometimes, when it's like the 4 am feed, I think Hmmm... maybe I shoudl just stay up.

Except I am still pumping, so there's no way to be half asleep :) Believe me, if he was nursing right now, I would not get out of bed! But the pumping is so monotanous that I have to have something to keep me alert. Anyone have any good website suggestions for online reading material? It's even difficult to hold a book and the pump, so website is best at this point.

middle of the night reading - Mar. 23, 2007

Might I suggest something neutral for reading in the middle of the night. If I read anything too controversial I get all upset and then can't get back to sleep. Christianity Today has some good articles and they have quite an archive, too, so there is lots to read. Or cooking websites. I love looking at those, but I always have to keep a notebook nearby so I can jot down recipes I want to try, you know, in like 5 years when I have some time!

Hands free pumping bras are wonderful! They would make your night reading easier, and make it easier for you during the day as well. I pumped a lot with #1, and it was worth every penny. They are pricey (35-40), but I've seen them 1/2 that, new, on ebay. If you pump a lot, they are worth even the full price.
