Luncheon • Apr. 14, 2007

Today my mother-in-law and my dear friend Lisa gave a luncheon in Christian’s honor.  We gathered close friends and enjoyed the company.  What I most wanted to share with you, however, is that instead of showering Christian and me with gifts (we’re borrowing from gracious friends and otherwise don’t need things for him), each gal brought a gift that we then wrapped together and will deliver to the local Crisis Pregnancy Center in Christian’s name.

My dear friends prayed for Christian, and for me.  My heart is bubbling over with thankfulness for them, and to my God.

Showering Blessings - Apr. 15, 2007

Shared by Ann at mommysecrets.blogspot.com
Such a sweet shower & I love the picture of your kids snuggling!

My friends threw a prayer shower for my 3rd baby. I filled out 13 prayer cards (each different) to represent all the prayers I wanted to pray for my family during our growing season. A card was given to each of our 13 guests to pray for me throughout the month, and they prayed for me at the shower. I cried all the way through it. I felt so totally blessed and covered with peace. Prayer is wonderful, isn't it?!

What a great idea... - Apr. 15, 2007

A few years ago for my daughter's b-day, we asked her friends to bring diapers or other baby things. She and I took them to the local crisis pregnancy center to share. She had plenty of gifts for herself from family members. It was really a neat time. :)

What a sweet idea! Especially for those moms who already have other children, so have most of the necessities -- I've often wondered what we can do in those cases.

I just had the opportunity to read your post from Jan 10, what I'm calling "What homeschoolers wish everyone else knew about homeschooling." I love it! I'm so tempted to carry copies with me and give it to the ones with a serious lack of understanding. Thanks so much!

What a great idea--we've done that for birthday's before but never thought of it for Tabby's shower. Wish we would have because there was really nothing we needed.
Love the pictures -- you have a precious family.
God bless,
Christine

But look at those voluptuous curls! You must only be washing your hair once a week ;D

In case the rest of the girls reading this don't know, that cute redhead is Caroline. Her blog is homeschoolblogger.com/howiesgal

Kendra got me hooked on the "curl girl" way. It works!

I'm really glad so many of you liked this idea. I think it's a wonderful way to shower blessings on a new baby and to bless the community as well.
