Amanda has produced another lovely kit for our kiddos, this time focusing on spring. The winter kit was so much fun, and I just had to show you what our six-year-old made:

It was the perfect beginner project, utilizing a simple straight stitch (I did a lot of it while she was chatting, which meant she didn't get so frustrated), some cutting, and rolling up the cuff.

Thanks for the link over to Hearts and Trees. You previously posted about Amanda's Mini Kits. We ordered the felt pouch and felt notebook cover kit, and my 8 year had a blast. She even took it one step further and made her dad a cell phone cover all by herself. She has become the “blanket stitch” queen!!

I am definitely ordering spring kits for my 6, 8 and 10 year olds. I love these kits—they help me accomplish what I don’t have the creativity to put together myself. And, in the process, I actually look like a *fun* mom to my kids! LOL

My sentiments exactly! These are the kinds of things that get pushed back behind the "have-tos" like laundry, meals, cleaning up messes, etc. If it weren't for the creativity of others, I would definitely not be a fun mom.

Hmmmm. Nice try. But I disagree. These kits look great and like great fun. But you would STILL be a fun mom!! The kind of mom who takes her kids for spontaneous picnics, buys shamrock shakes because it's March (come on, how fun is THAT!!), lets her kids go swimming just because it's sunny out, knowing full well that they'll be out in less time than it took to grab a towel, and sees the humor in a verb sentence about bomb factories.

I think the "fun" comes from the attitude...

And you have plenty of that :) :) :)

BUT!!! These kits do look great.

Too funny! Maybe we should give ourselves a *little* credit once in a while, huh?

Just last week, I packed up my 6, 8 and 10 year olds and stood in line for over an hour in the freezing, snowy weather here in Pennsylvania so that we could see Bill Clinton campaign for his wife. (I kept telling my husband that I was doing it ONLY for the home education of my children!!) Does that count as spontaneous and fun? lol
