I have a cat named Shadow. He is 7 years old. This is my baby.
On October 17, 2006, I had just finished brushing my teeth, and I went in my room to look out my sliding glass door. When I looked out, I saw Shadow lying there. I opened the door to let him in, but as he tried to walk I saw he couldn't, and he was injured. I called my big sister, Briana. She came in, and I went to get Daddy. (My mom and other sisters were out of town.) His front right leg was hurt really bad.

It was torn all the way down to the bone. It was about 7 or 8 inches long. He was all wet because it was raining. We really quickly got ready to go to the vet. The vet said he was in shock, but that that was probably good because it kept him from bleeding and probably saved his life. At first they thought he might have been hit by a car, but then they changed it to thinking he got attacked by a wild animal. They had to do surgery on him, and they had to take out a lot of muscle. He had to stay in the vet for 2 weeks. He is at home now, but has to stay in a big cage. We try to pet him a lot, and we get him out of the cage a couple of times a day. He will probably have to stay in the cage for at least another week or 2. The vet said it would probably take a year and a half for him to get completely better. Comments
