Aug. 16, 2007 - First two days of school!

Wow! The first two days of school were amazing. This is my schedule.

Homeroom-Mrs. Lyles

P.E./Heath-Mr. Deaton

Spanish-we don’t have a teacher yet so right now it’s study hall.

Computer-Mr. Embry

ENGLISH!-Mrs. T (this is my favorite class and teacher)!!!!!

Lunch

Algebra 1- Mrs. Buckland

Biology- Mrs. Bitz

Bible- Mrs. Lyles

So the first day we didn’t know when lunch was and we don’t have a Spanish teacher so we didn’t know what to do about that class. So Mrs. T told us that since we need to finish reading Animal Farm, we are going to her room for that time to read!!! I’m so excited. Oh and the best part, we get to spend 6 weeks on Shakespeare!!!!!!!!!! Then like 4 weeks on Charles Dickens! I am just looking forward to English this year. Also a funny thing happened today. We got our lockers today and we thought that the read ones would be ours so we start putting our stuff in it and my friend Heather’s backpack got stuck. When she tried to pull it out like 4 lockers almost fell on her b/c they weren’t attached. It was so funny. It ended up that those weren’t our lockers anyway!!! Also, there’s a rumor that a person from my class last year that left is coming back! His name is Miller!!!! He’s like my best guy friend. Ok so I’ll stop rambling!

Her name is Mrs. Bowie and for 1 she’s teaching English so I’m gonna love that plus she used to live in England!!!! So I can ask her a bunch of questions about it and I hope I don’t bother her too much. She might hate me before it’s all over. Well lets just come right out and say it….I’m soooooooo nervous. So pray for me if ya think of it. Well it’s 9:40 and I gotta go to bed.(yea right I’m gonna be able to fall asleep) lol

Aug. 11, 2007 - oh I can't think of a title.

me being silly(with a really bad hair day)

Chelly, Casey, and me at Chelly's party(after the water balloon fight)

Chelly and I(aren't we adorable) lol

Sorry everyone about not posting. I’ve been so busy with getting ready for school and last minute hangouts with friends before school starts. The past couple weeks were so crazy. I went to Chelly’s 17th b-day party and had a BLAST!  I’ve gonna to so many movies this summer it’s not even funny. It’s all thanks to Chelly though cause she works at a movie theater and I can get in for free. I am officially obsessed with Hairspray! I love the movie and I already know all the songs. I listen to them all the time. I got to go to Kentucky Kingdom yesterday. I rode my first rollercoaster. I promiced myself that I would ride my first rollercoaster with my friend Julie. Guess who invited me to go…Julie! So I kept my promice. It was so fun. It’s called Twisted Twins. I also got a tan!!!! YEAH! Then hopefully I will go stay the night with Chelly and then tomorrow go see Grease the play! I start school Wed. I’m kind of excited. As some of you all know I’m not homeschooled. I used to be but not any more. This year is my first year in high school. I’m just hoping it all goes well. My school is really small, so small that my class has only 6 people in it. We have K-9th and we add a grade every year so there are no older classed in my high school. It’s depressing. I don’t know if I’m going there next year.

Ok so I’m not going to do the rockin girl award thing cause of the new blog thing that Chris made. Lets just stick to that.

~Sarah~

ps- i hope these pics work! lol

Aug. 4, 2007 - Sorry

Sorry that I haven’t been on in so long. First, my computer was acting up. I would get on comment a few people and by the time I went to post my computer would freeze or something. Then I’ve just been really busy. Wed. I went to my school to work in the office while the lady that answers the door and the phone was gone. I just helped the teachers, my principal, and answered the door and phone. It was really fun actually. Well once I go the hang of it. I had to answer the phone like this, “Hello this is Christian Academy, how may I serve you.” It took some getting used to but it was cool. Not to mention that I have a certain amount of service hours I have to get in each year of high school, 15 actually, and I already got in 12 hours by doing that. Then wed. night I went to Chelly’s for her b-day. Came home thurs. and then yesterday I went to school again. After that I went to this kids thing at church to help out. I’m so tired.

OK I know that I said I was going to do the photobucket thing and do the rockin’ girl blogger award but yet again I don’t have enough time. I’m going shopping for Chelly’s b-day party. SHE’S 17 NOW!!!!! Just a little shout out to her.

HAPPY B-DAY CHELLY! Ok I will get around to doing everything just not today. Sorry you guys.

Jul. 28, 2007 - Thanks!

Ok so thanks to Chris I now know how to put pics on here and make it work EVERY time! THANKS AGAIN CHRIS! So tom. I will try again. lol

I was also given the Rockin' Girl award so tom. I will also post who I will give it too. I've been thinking a lot about it lately. Can't wait.

One more thing my friend Chelly had a REALLY bad day at work today. She works at a movie theater and just ONE thing that went wrong was that one of the popcorn machines like exploded and smoke went EVERYWHERE. Her and another girl breathed in a whole lot of smoke. So she's not feeling good. Thanks you guys.

~Sarah~

PS-I just wanted to say that I'm truly thankful for my "family" that I've grown to have on here. I don' know too many people but who I do know are so encouraging and spiritually helpful to me all the time. Thanks! Luv you all!

Jul. 22, 2007 - My testimony and some other stuff.

Hey you guys! I’m gonna be frank: this post is gonna be real long. So I’m going to put it in parts. First how my last couple days went and then my testimony of my calling. Sorry it took me so long to post. It took a while to get it all down.

*~*~*

Well Sat. I went to a family thing. It was a joint party. (that sounds great doesn’t it if ya just say that right. lol) Ok my Nana’s and cousin’s b-days are really close so we celebrated their b-days together. It was real fun. Especially since my cousin Erin makes THE best cakes in the world. Also my cousin Jordan was there. I never get to see him. I was so happy. He just graduated collage. I think I said that a while ago. Anyway, he said he would sell me his car for $5,000 cause I’m so much like a sister to him. lol I so wish I could really take him up on that. lol And then today was church. So that’s it for what I’ve been doing.

*~*~*

This is my testimony!

For the past few years I have had this love for England and the way they talk! I love movies about England. My family knows some friends that are missionaries to England, Guy and Dee Cornell,(yes, that is their real names). They work for a mission that sells Christian literature all over England and many other places as well. It’s called CLC(Christian Literature Crusade). Now CLC has a newsletter that they send out every 2 months and we are on the list of people to get an issue. I had known about CLC a little but one day I walked into the kitchen and on the table was a CLC newsletter. This one had at least 5 testimonies in it about people who were called to be missionaries and how they got to work for CLC. I just started to think about it real hard and right then and there I knew God was calling me to be a missionary to England and that I was to work for CLC. I was so excited about the call that I wrote to Dee to tell her about it. I was so ready I could have left right then but I knew God had to prepare me for this first. Well Dee was really happy for me and she wrote back with such encouraging words. I can’t start working for CLC till I’m 18, I also need some kind of Bible teaching in collage so lets just say I got a while to wait. I was truly upset at first but as I wait I realize that it’s for the better. God is preparing me everyday for His great work. Now I don’t know where you all stand about people prophesying but I have been told by numerous people that God has a big plan for me in the future. That God will use me in a powerful way and I believe it. Not b/c of who I am but b/c of who God is. Well Dee is the editor of the CLC newsletter and every issue she writes a little something on the first page. She was so thrilled about my letter to her that she put it in the newsletter and commented about. I was so stoked! Since then I have felt that God wants me to take a trip to visit Dee in England before I’m 18. So I’ve started a savings account for my trip. So far I have like $300. I am trusting that when the money comes in for all the expences that that is when I’m to go. Also Deb says she wants to come with me to England one time and if it’s God’s will then I just hope it happens. So like the tag said “where will you be in 10 years?”, by God’s grace I’ll be in ENGLAND! Also I wanted to put in here what Dee said in the CLC newsletter. So here it is….

“At our annual conference in May, one of the main prayer concerns was about the critical shortage of missionaries to carry on the work in our bookshops and warehouse. When I returned home, there was an email waiting for me from Sarah, a teenager in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. I have read the email over and over because it is such a wonderful example of the missionary call. Sarah was reading CLC World when she felt God speaking to her. It may surprise you to know that none of our CLC UK missionaries or helpers are paid. We all do what we do because we believe that Christian books and Bibles can change lives and we believe that as we seek God first, He will provide our needs. In Sarah's letter, I see all the elements of calling and faith and the desire to be obedient. I asked her if I could share her letter with all of you and she agreed.

"Dear Dee,
Hey, how are you? How is the CLC business doing? Actually, I'm writing you concerning something like the CLC business. You see I've always loved
England and it had been my dream to one day go there. One day I was reading some testimonies about how some people got to work for CLC. When I read the paper I felt it really strong on my heart to go there and do mission work. I'm sure you understand at least a little bit. It's burning inside me and I really want to let it out. Also, my only hobby is reading and I love books. I thought, what a perfect match. I love England, I love books, and I would be serving the Lord. I know I'm only 14 but I'm so close to positive that this is what God wants me to do.
If possible I would like to know the requirements of a CLC worker. If God wills it, I would be willing to go now and do mission work. I feel that the Lord has told me to start saving up for Him but I'm still not sure what the Lord has in store for that money. So far I have $106 and some. I've been praying about this ever since I read that paper. I just want the Lord's will to be done. Please write back and comment on whatever you like. Thank you for your time. Love Sarah"

Jul. 21, 2007 - busy~Hairspray~Deb and her parents

Sorry that I’ve been kinda gone for a while there. It’s been crazy around here. My feet are completely better. Thank God! Today I was gone all day. I woke up got ready to go to the movies. I saw Hairspray! It’s so funny and good. It’s a complete chick flick. My friend Ali and I plained to get all the girls from our class together. Then we decided to invite the guys too. I thought that none would come though b/c I mean we were watching Hairspray but Justin, Austin, Jordan, and Miller showed up. We met up at McDonalds then walked to the movie. Justin and Austin didn’t see Hairspray though. But I had sooooo much fun. And if any of you girls like Zac Efron this is the movie for you man. I mean wow! I don’t usually put my feelings out to just anyone but he was soooooooooo cute!!!!! Ok sorry. lol Then my dad came and got me from the movies and I went straight to my friend’s house. She was at work but some friends from out of town were there. Deb’s parents!!! They are so nice. I’ve known them for a long time. And Deb called Chelly after she got off work and I got to say hi. HI, Deb!!! lol Well then we came home and that brings me to right now.

Oh 1 more thing before I hit the sack. What do you all think of my music. TC was the first to comment on it and I just wanna know what you all think of it too. So comment me and tell me what ya think.

Jul. 17, 2007 - Somebody help my feet

Sorry I haven’t been on here in a little while. A circuit went out in our computer room and so we didn’t have a working computer for like 2 days.
GUESS WHAT. I HAVE A JOB! Well sort of. It’s temporary. I’m babysitting for my friend Julie while she’s out of town for 2 weeks. It’s like the best babysitting job I’ve ever had. I’m watching this girl named
Lydia. She’s 11 and so you might be wondering why I’m watching her but her mom and dad are out of the house from 7:30 in the morning till 3:00 in the afternoon. So I’m staying at her house while they’re gone. I have to get up at 6:30 in the morning which is the only bad part cause my dad takes me to her house and we have to leave by 7:15. But it’s ok cause when I get there Lydia isn’t up yet so I can go to sleep on they’re couch. Which I might add is very comfortable. Then she will wake up at like 10:00 or 11:00 and well just hang out. She’s actually very mature for her age. So we have fun. We watch TV, play video games, get on the comp., and walk around her neighborhood. So I was really excited when I realized I could use they’re comp but when I got on it said it couldn’t find HSB! I was so upset but I got over it. So today we went walking to a little hole in the wall grocery store and got Jolly ranchers, bottled water(which was desperately needed after the walk there), and we each got a slushy(sp). By the time we got home me feet were KILLING ME. Well actually I wanted to kill my feet but ya know. Lydia said it was a short walk. (Advice 101: Never trust an 11 yr old’s judgment on distance) I would estimate it was a little under 2 miles round trip. Not so bad IF YOUR WEARING THE RIGHT SHOES!!!!! Needless to say I was in flip-flops not to mention that the straps dig into the side of my foot every time my foot comes down. SO…..I guess what I’m saying is could you please pray for my blistered, aching, soar, oh and did I mention blistered feet. Lets just say it hurts to walk. But over all it was a fun day. I got to watch cable TV which I don’t have and I got to try a really cool popsicle. lol

Tomorrow I have a day off. Thank God!!!!!! I can let my feet rest. Then I go back on Thursday. Oh did I mention the pay isn’t that bad like at all. Well my little sister is begging me to take her to bed and read some of a book we’re reading. It’s past my bed time anyway. lol

Jul. 9, 2007 - When Calls the Heart-my movie

Sorry it took me so long to write about my “movie that I’m gonna make”. lol It’s been crazy ‘round here.

Ok so I said I was going to tell about how I’m gonna make When Calls the Heart a movie. So….It started when I had just finished reading the book. I haven’t had to many books that I think are good enough to be movies but this one definitely qualified. Now first you need to know that it’s a dream of mine to become a director/producer and I’m always thinking about ways to make this or that a movie. So it wasn’t weird when that night I started thinking about who my star would be. I was trying to go through any and every actress that I knew and the only one that stood out was Kirsten Dunst. Then it hit me that the book as placed in Alberta, Canada. Kirsten wasn’t Canadian. So I really recked my brain and tried to think if I knew any Canadian actresses, I thought of only one. The little girl, Anna Paquin, in the movie Fly Away Home about the geese was made and based in Canada. I figured that she was old enough now that she would be perfect when I make the movie. So I was saticfied enough to go to sleep. The next morning I woke up and looked her up on IMdb, found out how old she was, what movies she’s been in stuff like that. I looked at pics and she was just perfect. In the mean time I saw a couple of times this same acter in movies with her, Shawn Ashmore. He really looked the part the strong and determinded face, focused, purposeful, all that stuff. Plus he had the “blue eyes” that were needed to fit the part of Wynn. Then I thought he’s prolly not Canadian. Man! But I looked him up on there anyway. GUESS WHAT…..he’s Canadian!!!!!! I was completely trippin’. But now I have Chris to deal with. He wants to be the “hot guy” that kisses the “pretty girl”. I told him if he starts to work on his Canadian accent now he will probably be good enough when the time comes that it will work. He does have the blue eyes……...! lol So that’s my making a movie story for now. Tell what ya think. Ok?

Jul. 5, 2007 - When Calls the Heart

Can’t really post much but I just wanted to say this before I forgot. I got to read a wonderful book over my vacation. It’s called When Calls the Heart by Janette Oke. She is the writer of the Love Comes Softly series which was later turned into movies. So if you like good romantic novels with a bit of adventure then this is the book for you. The place is Alberta, Canada in 1910. It’s about a woman who’s a eastern schoolteacher. She’s been brought up with all the fine things in life. When she’s offered a job out west to teach she decides to take it on one condition, she will never marry one of those adventureous, tough, and roudy western men. Could there be one man to change her mind? Read to find out.

On my next post I’m gonna write about how I’m gonna grow up and make this a movie and who the stars are gonna be. lol It’s silly but I really like to act like I could make a movie someday. Maybe I will. Maybe you’ll see

When Calls the Heart

Produced/Directed by: Sarah S.

Ok I’ll stop now b/c I’m prolly scaring you all. lol

Jul. 4, 2007 - Happy 4th of July!

HEY EVERYONE...GUESS WHAT TODAY IS…IT’S INDEPENDENCE DAY!

I’m back now. We had a wonderful trip. I love getting to see all my cousins. I also got to see my friend, Haley. She kinda related to me like she’s my mom’s sister’s husband’s sister’s daughter. lol So my uncle Gary’s(by marriage) niece. So I hope you all got that. It was all really fun. The last day we were there it was just our family left and my aunt Judy took us on a walk down Washington Ave. I think, and it had the most BEAUTIFUL houses in the world. I was really considering writing a note saying, “I will work for you do anything for you if you will just let me live in your house” but I didn’t. lol

It’s amazing how God has still blessed this country even with all that goes on here. I mean we’re like Sodom and Gomorrah. Maybe there’s some one out there asking God that if He can find 100 righteous people that He won’t destroy this whole country. But today is a day that we celebrate our independence and of how God has blessed this country so greatly. I feel so blessed to be living in a country that most people wish they could live in just for a bit of freedom. We in America take this for granted so much. We have cars that get us places in no time at all. We don’t truly understand the meaning of working for your money and earning that money fairly. We have become so secure in our little ways that unless we can truly see what it’s like to live somewhere else we are still the same as always. My pastor’s son, Jonathan, went to Africa not to long ago and when he came back he was truly changed. He no longer took things like clothes and food for granted. I’m glad he had that experience. Anyway I’m not trying to preach at anyone.

SO HAVE A GOOD 4TH OF JULY!!!!!

~Sarah~
