Jul. 22, 2007 - My testimony and some other stuff.

Hey you guys! I’m gonna be frank: this post is gonna be real long. So I’m going to put it in parts. First how my last couple days went and then my testimony of my calling. Sorry it took me so long to post. It took a while to get it all down.

*~*~*

Well Sat. I went to a family thing. It was a joint party. (that sounds great doesn’t it if ya just say that right. lol) Ok my Nana’s and cousin’s b-days are really close so we celebrated their b-days together. It was real fun. Especially since my cousin Erin makes THE best cakes in the world. Also my cousin Jordan was there. I never get to see him. I was so happy. He just graduated collage. I think I said that a while ago. Anyway, he said he would sell me his car for $5,000 cause I’m so much like a sister to him. lol I so wish I could really take him up on that. lol And then today was church. So that’s it for what I’ve been doing.

*~*~*

This is my testimony!

For the past few years I have had this love for England and the way they talk! I love movies about England. My family knows some friends that are missionaries to England, Guy and Dee Cornell,(yes, that is their real names). They work for a mission that sells Christian literature all over England and many other places as well. It’s called CLC(Christian Literature Crusade). Now CLC has a newsletter that they send out every 2 months and we are on the list of people to get an issue. I had known about CLC a little but one day I walked into the kitchen and on the table was a CLC newsletter. This one had at least 5 testimonies in it about people who were called to be missionaries and how they got to work for CLC. I just started to think about it real hard and right then and there I knew God was calling me to be a missionary to England and that I was to work for CLC. I was so excited about the call that I wrote to Dee to tell her about it. I was so ready I could have left right then but I knew God had to prepare me for this first. Well Dee was really happy for me and she wrote back with such encouraging words. I can’t start working for CLC till I’m 18, I also need some kind of Bible teaching in collage so lets just say I got a while to wait. I was truly upset at first but as I wait I realize that it’s for the better. God is preparing me everyday for His great work. Now I don’t know where you all stand about people prophesying but I have been told by numerous people that God has a big plan for me in the future. That God will use me in a powerful way and I believe it. Not b/c of who I am but b/c of who God is. Well Dee is the editor of the CLC newsletter and every issue she writes a little something on the first page. She was so thrilled about my letter to her that she put it in the newsletter and commented about. I was so stoked! Since then I have felt that God wants me to take a trip to visit Dee in England before I’m 18. So I’ve started a savings account for my trip. So far I have like $300. I am trusting that when the money comes in for all the expences that that is when I’m to go. Also Deb says she wants to come with me to England one time and if it’s God’s will then I just hope it happens. So like the tag said “where will you be in 10 years?”, by God’s grace I’ll be in ENGLAND! Also I wanted to put in here what Dee said in the CLC newsletter. So here it is….

“At our annual conference in May, one of the main prayer concerns was about the critical shortage of missionaries to carry on the work in our bookshops and warehouse. When I returned home, there was an email waiting for me from Sarah, a teenager in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. I have read the email over and over because it is such a wonderful example of the missionary call. Sarah was reading CLC World when she felt God speaking to her. It may surprise you to know that none of our CLC UK missionaries or helpers are paid. We all do what we do because we believe that Christian books and Bibles can change lives and we believe that as we seek God first, He will provide our needs. In Sarah's letter, I see all the elements of calling and faith and the desire to be obedient. I asked her if I could share her letter with all of you and she agreed.

"Dear Dee,
Hey, how are you? How is the CLC business doing? Actually, I'm writing you concerning something like the CLC business. You see I've always loved
England and it had been my dream to one day go there. One day I was reading some testimonies about how some people got to work for CLC. When I read the paper I felt it really strong on my heart to go there and do mission work. I'm sure you understand at least a little bit. It's burning inside me and I really want to let it out. Also, my only hobby is reading and I love books. I thought, what a perfect match. I love England, I love books, and I would be serving the Lord. I know I'm only 14 but I'm so close to positive that this is what God wants me to do.
If possible I would like to know the requirements of a CLC worker. If God wills it, I would be willing to go now and do mission work. I feel that the Lord has told me to start saving up for Him but I'm still not sure what the Lord has in store for that money. So far I have $106 and some. I've been praying about this ever since I read that paper. I just want the Lord's will to be done. Please write back and comment on whatever you like. Thank you for your time. Love Sarah"
