Back at the Museum
Welcome back to The Knitwit's Museum. Here is a special exhibit that The Knitwit is still working on. It's special because it isn't knitting. That's right. The Knitwit is also a reluctant quilter. She was, but now she will grudgingly admit that it *might* be a little fun. She likes straight lines and tiny stitches.
The Knitwit wasn't sure whether to introduce this new project this week or just babble about her Miracle Easter Shoes (which could be the first time in her life that she was excited about shoes), but finally decided that her visitors would appreciate looking at the quilt instead of the shoes. So, without further ado, if you will all gather around this glass case...

This is The Knitwit's adopt-a-quilt, as her friend described it. It was started in a quilting bee way back when The Knitwit was about ten. She ignores your comments that when she was ten really wasn't that long ago. The entire quilt is hand-sewn and was a lot of work. The Knitwit took up the project again a week or so ago. The Knitwit's Great-Grandmother worked on it, too. That makes it very special to The Knitwit.
Here is the underside of the quilt:

And the topside of the squares with the medallions:
