For my Show 'n Tell (see my SEiC, Mary for more of them), here's a poem I wrote for Great Grandma Ruth when I was 15, when she went back to live in Pennsylvania. I hope you enjoy it.
Always When I Think of You
By Jen
Always when I think of you,
This is what I see:
Curly white hair all in waves
(P'raps it's that way from teachin' me)
Crossword puzzle book in hand
You sit there sound asleep.
Pink sweater, pants, and slippers, too --
I think you always matched.
I was always really proud
To beat you at a game
You were just too good!
Great Grandma, I love you,
And while you're away
I'll await the day
That you come back.
