Sibling... Rivalry?
My brothers and I aren't exactly what you would call 'loving and caring' siblings. We are constantly picking on each other and that kind of stuff. I seriously don't know if I could handle being around them otherwise. Miss Laura's brother is very sweet and often gives her hugs and compliments her. My brothers have never hugged me (as far as I can remember). Now, Michael is usually covered in grease, so if he were to hug me, my clothes would be far from thrilled.
David said I was adorable once. Apart from that, the guys just poke fun at the instances where I'm a complete idiot (which are disturbingly often...). I guess it would bug most people. It just... doesn't bother me! I sometimes even like it when they say I look like Medusa when I've put my hair in eight or nine braids to curl it or that I'm the wicked witch of the west when I haven't brushed said hair. Not to mention when I dress up in Hawaiian Saris (yeah, Hawaiian!) and they just say I have 'issues'. Or, as David would say, "That is all kinds of messed up." Besides, I can dish it out as fast as they can. :-)
But Michael looks out for me more than anyone else does. For instance, he would not even consider letting me go to the all-girls college my aunt wants me to go to in Missouri. Yesterday, when David commented that I should drive the jeep because it gets the same mileage as my truck, Michael basically said, "Over my rotting corpse. The steering is messed up, and even *I* have a hard time driving it. No, she's not driving it."
Mike, even though you've thrown slugs at me, set up trip wires by the creek (the falling pots and logs were a good touch, btw), let me get lost in the woods... You're awesome. I know you won't read this, but it's true.
I really am their princess, but if you think more of Eowyn instead of Cinderella, you'd be correct.
And turning 180 dregrees...
Speaking of Eowyn, I describe this costume as "Eowyn hangin' with Gimli", hence the ax. *g* Which, by the way, is real. It's sitting right over there.
The real name for this pic is: Dreaming of Norway |

May. 8, 2008 - Wow!
"You've come a long way, baby!" Look what you can do in Photoshop. I LOVE this pic. I think you should use it as the header on this blog. Or....for a moment I thought it was an illustration from your Makari book. Exchange the ax for a sword and you will have "Lyric goes 'native' from spending too much time traveling through Makari.
And fun exposé on the brothers. What about Jon? Is he in there, or does he look up to you with adoring eyes? I WISH I'd had older brothers (rather than being the "older brother" so to speak). I would have loved the teasing and practical jokes, too. Oh, well. God knows....
p.s. on your sidebar, you could "clean it up" by putting a
in front of the "Speak Friend...." and then a
and then a "break" symbol, and then things wouldn't be so run together. You've really toned this blog down and I, for one, like the neat, crisp appearance of it. But I still think you should put your Lyric dreams of norway as the header. Or use it for your Makari blog. Now THAT would be cool! I figured out how to change the header on MY Blogspot, although it looks kind of dumb and I will probably change it back (after I switch the russian back to english).
