A true random artist...that's you, Lyric. I love it, though, and it's no wonder you have an avid blog following. Your posts are all over the map. Ranting about LOTR movies? I'm confused. Not so much that you are going to rant about them, but why just NOW? Why not earlier on? I had no idea you harbored ranting thoughts..And the elves? What do you mean "What happened...?" Like where did they go?
Anyway, I digress. Why don't you e-mail me with a little more detail about the proposed "talk". THings like: How long is a "short" talk? Is this ONE class talking about 2 things--or 2 classes talking about 2 different things? The word "pay" is a good word, since gas is so expensive, and I'd love to hang out with you and your family for at least a night. The "next school year" is great, too. I am committed to every Friday teaching writing at the homeschool co-op next fall: Sept-Dec. 12th. I would be very free for say...winter quarter, not so free for fall qtr., but could possibly squeeze it in early in the week. There...that should arm you with some fodder for thought.
I'm supposed to be teaching a summer class for GRCC for kids, but I just found out it includes an hour a day of poetry! I told my friend when she asked me to take the classes for her, that I didn't DO poetry (and have no time to create lessons. No way). Now I find the brochure has already gone out to the parents, and it looks like they may expect poetry. Not going to happen. So I offered to let the GRCC lady find somebody else. The pay's not bad, but I don't work for "stress" and to have parents show up with kids who expect to study poetry is a 10 on my stress-o-meter.
I would have e-mailed you all this, but I don't have my addresses with me, as I am on Roger's computer, because our router died! So his is the only computer hooked up to the modem. When you have 4+ computers depending on the router, it's bad when it dies. Andrew and I are going to Walmart this afternoon to buy an new one. (He's babysitting for Chad's kids so Jo can go to Home Depot training...hmmm...whatever that is). I just couldn't babysit so many days this week, and Andrew will do almost anything for $$$. LOL (Well, he won't change Levi's messy diapers. I told him I'd go over to the house and do that if he needs me). Do I get the "good mom" award?
You have entered the blog of a farm girl, unpublished novelist, avid knitter, life-long homeschooler, and Punmaster. Feel free to leave a comment, even if you're not an HsB blogger! *wink*
