So this "cow" is going to be a work cow? Then a milk cow? Seems kinda mean to work a young heifer half to death and then make her pregnant. Heifer abuse, I'd say. Name her Bonita (pretty in Spanish). OR>>> how about a German name, "Madchen" or something (oops, probably spelled it wrong. This thing doesn't do the Umlouts. (spelled wrong, too). Oh, and I wish I had a prize for the most creative answers for my little quiz. You made my day (Especially after one of the winners--there are actually 2 who got them all right--mailed me her addy and it is in GERMANY!) Yikes. Didn't especially want to send a plastic horse and bookmark to Hessan, Germany. But thankfully it only cost me a little over a dollar. Whoosh. Thought it might be $5 or $6. So I was a little depressed about the internat'l shipping. One of the entrants mixed up 2 of her answers--a typo I think--and I haven't decided if I'm going to give it to her or not. If yes, then that makes 3 winners so far. But if no more get them all right, then you are possibly in the line up of "most correct." or..maybe not. Have to double check. #7-- Shooting off your mouth is not strutting or preening. It is "mouthing off" "wisecracking" "smarting off" "arguing" or any of the above. #10-- "Shooting Irons" are not idiots. They are "iron that shoot" as in---guns. :-) But I LOVED your answers. I almost had it as an 'extra' to put the answers in modern-day slang, but deleted it, as I assumed the KIDS would try and answer these and I didn't want them to be too hard. :-)

You might name a cow after me (Andi)? Love it. Sort of. Uh...maybe not. No, really. It's OK. I can go either way on this. And yes, you are Jenny, but your hair is not red. Sorry. I had thought of the name a long, long time ago for a completely unrelated story (hmmm... were you even born yet? Don't recollect). But when i was writing SFS, I thought it would be fun to use Jenny and I thought of you, even though sometimes I forget your name is Jen, because it is Lyric. And your mom never called you Jenny. It was always Jennifer.

I see you signed the Feelin' Feminine petition. I want to, but aren't you supposed to be supporting the wearing of dresses, etc? Or is it just dressing modestly, etc? I'm wondering how Farm Girl Lyric or Andi can sign this thing....

Aug. 23, 2008 - your ox-cow!

Hi Jen, Your grandpa mentioned to me last week that he was breeding a milk cow, but he didn't tell me he was going to give it to YOU! How exciting! I do love cows.... :-) Forget dogs, I can't stand them! But give me a cow any day and I'll be happy! LOL I haven't trained Belle to pull a cart, but she's such a good girl I bet she would. She's amazing! :-) Can't wait to hear how it all goes for you. This will be fun. I will have to come over and ride in your oxcart sometime! We are leaving town next weekend and so we are getting some homeschooled kids nearby to come milk the cow and take care of the other animals while we're away. We thought about asking you or somebody else that <u>knows how to milk and handle cows</u> but you all are so far away that we opted to get the neighbor kids. They've never touched a cow as far as I know, so it should be interesting! Good thing we have a milking machine.... as much as I dislike it, it will be good in this situation! Hopefully they will learn how to use it much faster than I did though! It took me MONTHS before I could use it without David's help! I know, I'm a slow learner or something.... See you tomorrow! You can't name it YULIA! That's my coworker's name, and she is very nice. You can't call my friend a cow (is it a boy cow or girl cow?)! How about something like . . . Guenther, Amalia, Lester, Kelani, and I can't think of any more names because I'm falling asleep. :)
