Apr. 10, 2008 AAAAH! They've found me!
They've found me, and apparently they think I'm pretty funny. So funny that they've tossed my name into the backyard. That would be this backyard: Backyard. For those of you without a Homeschool blogger account, I'll sum up a couple of the rumors they are now spreading about me.
#1. They say that I am a character. Woah, hold it! I may be the owner/mommy of a whole bunch of story characters, but that doesn't mean I am one! Although, they say that you tend to be like who you hang out with... So, maybe I am a character. I guess Jocelyn could be right. *cough* Moving on...
#2. Jocelyn claims I have been laughing. Ahahaha-oh, wait... *clamps hand over mouth* Me? Laughing? Never. Hm-m, no siree! I'm always so serious. *looks at computer screen with a sour expression* Miss Spock, that's me.
Just kidding -- but seriously, thanks for making me the featured blogger, guys (gals, should I say?). :-)
To anyone who might have stumbled upon my blog of apparent hilarity via the Backyard, I hope you enjoy your visit and come back again soon. I don't bite... really...

Well, I just got awarded the Excellent Blog by my friend-buddy-pal Andi (aka Suzy) and also by Lynn! Andi/Suzy actually awarded my writing blog and Lynn awarded this one.

Now, I must remind you: My blogs may be excellent, but only because of a better Author who is overseeing the typing. That's true for everything I (or anyone else) write.
You may notice that I'm not awarding this to anyone. (Shock, horror!) My reason being this: Every blog I've been to in the past month has already been awarded. I'm beginning to think there is no one left! So if you're reading this and feel left out because you haven't been awarded, tell me so in a comment so I can rush over and present it to you. :-) |

Jan. 30, 2008 Ich hab's gefangen!
Soeben habe ich ein Stöckchen gefangen (von Isla) :-)
...und so geht das Spiel:
*
Regeln:
o
Nimm das erste Buch in deiner Nähe (das mindestens 123 Seiten hat).
o
Öffne das Buch auf Seite 123.
o
Finde den fünften Satz.
o
Poste die nächsten drei Sätze.
o
Wirf dein Stöckchen an 5 weitere Blogger!
'Denn nur allzuoft unterhielten sie sich ohne Worte. "Nimm den dicken roten Mantel, der bis zu den Füßen reicht, und bringe ihn dem Armen. Gib ihm auch die alte Federmütze deines Großvaters."
Aus: Das Geheimnis das Tempelplaneten von Simon Schott.
Danke, Isla! :-)
Explanation to my non-German readers: This tag was to find the 5th sentence on the 123rd page of a nearby book. Seeing as how it was more fitting to use a German book, I used Das Geheimnis das Tempelplaneten by Simon Schott (which I am dying to understand) was actually in a box downstairs... :-D My journey through Urmel: Spielt im Schloß (which was too short to use for this tag) is proceeding slowly and unsurely... But, the word 'impossible' never stopped Miss Lyric before, has it? :-P |

3. Someone might come fix our dishwasher and washing machine on the fourth. They called a 6 o'clock this morning to tell us. O.o
4. I should be studying for a German test and a Geography map test right now.
5. My favorite song to sing is the Hallelujah Chorus, followed by Great is the Lord, Wonderful Grace of Jesus, and I Sing the Mighty Power of God.
6. I blame some of my foot/leg problems that aren't genetic on Lord of the Rings. |

Oct. 25, 2007 Was tagged again!
This time, I have to write 7 completely random facts about m'self. Anne-Marie tagged me over at Song of the Sagebrush. (If you haven't been to her blog, go there 'cause she writes some awesome poetry!)
1. I should be doing homework right now.
Oh! I was just tagged again by Starling to give 10 random facts! I'll just do seven on account of the evil homework...
2. Some people say I'm disgustingly tall, and other people say I'm really short. (5'7? Is that tall or short?)
3. I love cows, cats, and snakes.
4. I hate my speech class.
5. I have so many knitting projects to do and not enough time to do them.
6. I always run out of things to say in these tags
7. I'm wearing fuzzy blue slippers...
Much to Andi's relief, I'm not tagging anyone. :-) |

Sep. 1, 2007 Tag I stole from PlainJane...
...or maybe I just borrowed it without permission. It just looked so interesting!
The object of this tag is to put your birth month and day (excluding the year) into Wikipedia. Then you list 3 events, 2 birthdays, and 1 holiday that come up. I thought I'd give it a go. So, June 29th, here we go!
3 Events:
512 - A solar eclipse is recorded by a monastic chronicler in Ireland.
1888 - First (known) recording of classical music made, Handel's Israel in Egypt on wax cylinder.
2002 - Naval clashes between South Korea and North Korea lead to the death of four South Korean sailors and sinking of a North Korean vessel.
2 Birthdays:
1397 - John II of Aragon
1954 - Rick Honeycutt, baseball player
[Jennifer's note: Hey! I wasn't on the list of famous people born on that day! Someone should edit it! Or... maybe I should become famous...]
1 Holiday or Observance
Malta - l-Imnarja
Funny that in Malta the common people were only allowed to eat wild rabbit one day of the year: my birthday a long time ago. Never knew that.
You're tagged if you're curious about doing yours. :-) |

Hannahnut just tagged me, so I shall oblige and answer the questions.
1. What is your favorite Bible verse? At the moment, "No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment, thou shalt condemn..." Isaiah 54:17a
2. What season of the year is your favorite? Hmm... They are all wonderful. At the moment, I think summer is (yeah, 'cause it is summer...).
3. Do you think homeschooling will continue to grow? Do our coyotes howl all night long?
4. List 4 people that have most influenced your life: Mom, Dad, Grandma, and Grandpa
5. What is your favorite non-biblical quote? Oh, man... I have so many! Probably, "I'd give my right hand to be ambidextrous." by Yogi Berra is the best. (Come back on Sundays for more quotes!)
6. Silk, satin, or cotton? Oooooh, man. Uh, depends on what I'm making. I adore satin in some things and cotton in others. Silk is overrated, IMO.
7. If you like chocolate, what is your favorite? Dark chocolate, or M&M's
8. If you could sit at dinner with 5 people, who would they be? Kevin J. Anderson, Richard Dean Anderson (No, I'm sure they're not related), and various people in stories I've written. :-P
9. Who is your favorite author? Susan Marlow, of course! Silly question! :-) |
