Below is a thank you letter that I sent out to the parents of the children in my Sunday school class.
Long ago, the Pilgrims honored God by celebrating Thanksgiving for His provision and protection during their first year at Plymouth in a new world. Therefore, with this Thanksgiving season upon us, I would like to thank you for investing in the spiritual lives of your children. Thank you for you faithful attendance at our Church. Thank you, parents, for Bringing them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, (Ephesians 6:4).
In Psalm 78:1-7, God instructs His people not to hide His Word from their children, but to show to the next generation the praises of the Lord, his strength, and his wonderful works that he has done. Thank you for bringing your children to church, and training them at home. This will help train and prepare the next generation to be faithful in the worship of our Lord.
Deuteronomy 6:1-10 charges us to teach our children the commandments, the statutes and the judgments of the Lord our God. We should strive to teach them diligently to our children, talk of them when we sit in our house, when we walk by the way, when we lie down and when we rise up. Please continue your Christian instruction at home. The world is getting more evil every day, so please make sure they have been spiritually fed before going out into it.
I look forward to continuing to work with you for your childs spiritual growth.
So if you happen to teach a Sunday school with children, remember to thank the parents for bringing them to church. You will never realize how many seeds you are sowing for Christ.
