Ginger's Musings on Her Daily Joys

Dec. 28, 2006
Checking in as well as a Review of my new CD.

Posted in EveryDay Life

We are now after Christmas. What have we learned this year? Much. I know I still really do not want to put up a tree. My ten year old son feels the same. Why? I really do not like the fuss, then you have the whole Paganism of it. I am not a pagan. I am a child of God.
I learned that life does go on. Many of you know that read my blog that I lost my mom on the 1st of this month. We got through the day. I was wrapping up her gift for my children she had gotten them the day before and I was crying. I got to thinking she wont be reading these books to them. I felt the same the next day when we opened them up. Life goes on, I will read those books. She never did read books to us anyways.

My review of Abigail Miller's new CD I Can go In.

I love it. I really do. I have now 3 of her CD's. This last one was just beautiful. It is well made. The songs on there just really fill your soul.
#6 Turn the Tide really touched me. It just wowed me. She writes and I am going to copy them here
Turn the Tide
Words and Music by Abigail Miller
(Written in 2003)

When America was founded, she was strong and pure and good,
And her leaders on their knees were not ashamed to call on God.
But our nation, in her pride, has turned her back upon the right,
And the clouds of evil threaten to turn glory into night.
Strong wickedness has crept in like a cold and bloody thief,
Those who know the Lord and do His word stand by in disbelief.
For the love of God and country, we must not cease for a day,
For the future of our children we must lift our hearts and pray…

Chorus:
Turn the tide, Lord, turn the tide,
Open wide the floodgates of Your power.
Stem the flood of wickedness;
Restore, revive, and bless.
Turn the tide.

God's enemy is hard at work, undermining everywhere,
Breaking down foundations, twisting laws, and setting snares.
He would take away our freedom and replace it with despair,
And he laughs at those opposing him as if they were not there.
But God's children cannot sit by, we must stand up and defend,
For the battle is not over 'til our King declares the end.
We must work and fight and meet him, not as those that beat the air,
For the greatest weapon in our hands is strong and fervent prayer.

Chorus

Though the waves of immorality may beat upon the shore,
And it seems that all ungodliness is knocking at our door,
We must never give up hope, we must not let them win the war,
We must plead with Him who has the pow'r to cleanse and to restore.
Restore! Lord, turn the tide,
Turn the tide,
Open wide the floodgates of Your power,
Stem the flood of wickedness,
Restore, revive, and bless,
Turn the tide.

Stem the flood of wickedness,
Restore, revive and bless,
Turn the tide!

I am so sorry to read of the loss of your mom. Your special tribute to her was beautiful. I have enjoyed my visit and will look into the music you mention. We are fairly conservative and find it difficult to find pleasing music.

In His Grace,
