Epiphany

- 3 a (1) : a usually sudden manifestation or perception of the essential nature or meaning of something (2) : an intuitive grasp of reality through something (as an event) usually simple and striking (3) : an illuminating discovery, realization, or disclosure b : a revealing scene or moment

I started off the day in a dark mood.  My pride was injured, my feelings hurt.  I was sulking.  I went to lunch with my mother and ate fried okra, corn bread, and mashed potatoes.  Then, for no reason whatsoever, I had an epiphany!  (Could it have been all those carbs??)   All the pieces of a puzzle I'd been chewing on overnight didn't just fit together but fell all over themselves fitting together.  Eureka!  I had it.

This is what my “moment of clarity” revealed:  It doesn't matter if anyone knows you did the right thing.  In fact, they can all be downright sure you are a lying dirtbag, if that is what they are determined to think.  The only thing that matters is that you DID do the right thing.  And for the right reasons.  In the best way you knew how.  Everything else will fall into place -- or not -- and God will get you through it, either way.

I love these cheery verses at times like these:

Luk 12:6-7 Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?
But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.

I feel more peaceful tonight than I have in over a month and I'm so grateful for my praying friends.

You are so right, and there is nothing like fried okra to put all things into perspective. You all stood firm with integrity, and ultimately the truth WILL be revealed.

Perfect timing.
I'm Mayr, BTW, and I just followed your comment from Tia's blog. I'm not a homescholler (any more), but I was raised by one! I was homeschooled from the fourth grade through high school.
I am very grateful to my parents for that.

Sincerely,
Mary

You'd think I'd be able to spell my own name.

It's 'Mary', not 'Mayr' (although people do, come to think of it, have a tendency to call me the former rather than the latter).
