I'm so excited. The King has been boat shopping lately -- mostly, I suspect, to make some sense out of the purchase of the biggest, most ridiculous truck you've ever seen. My mother says he is just getting his West Coast/Canadian self into the groove of being a
I can't even drive it. It is terrifying. It is very much like driving a semi or freight truck, I suspect. He said to me, upon bringing home said vehicle: "But honey (and this is not a direct quote), it can haul a boat or a camper!" Of course, I HAD to point out the obvious: "Dear, we own neither a boat nor a camper." So, the search began. And tonight, we actually found a practical, used boat for a family of 5, plus some friends to help the time pass more gaily. It comes with a removable camper top, so it is sort of a cross between boat and camper. I wanted to put in a photo of the absolute best part: the cuddy cabin, but this blogsite always says I don't have enough space left. Why, you may ask, is the cuddy part the best part? Easy -- I can't possibly be out all day on the lake without a "porta potti" (I know, I know -- it really looks like I spelled that wrong, but I promise, it is right) and that slides out into the cabin for those crucial moments and then disappears into a neat little berth so you can forget all about it (until it needs dumped, of course). And there's even this microscopic sink to wash your hands in! Boat design is so clever. I can't wait to reupholster the cabin furniture! It all converts into a big bed. I picture many [hopefully] long naps for baby down there. So, since boating definitely has a lot less calories than the King's last hobby, let's hope it sticks!
