It's Thursday afternoon. All is quiet on this homefront. Babies napping, boys quietly playing...alone...my college daughter asleep on the couch. So nice to have her home. It is funny how you really miss someone once they have gone. I know we have always depended a great deal on Katelyn and when she does come home we are always so grateful for her presence. DH made the comment that she brings such a peace to our home. I like that she "likes" being home....doing nothing but hanging out on the couch watching cartoons with her little brothers. :) Sweet.
I didn't realize how much David missed his sister. He stayed by her side all morning when we visited Deanna Rose Childrens Farmstead. He was always in her arms. The above picture is from that farm. They're bunking together at night...she is staying in his room, much to his complete delight.
Katelyn will be 18 soon. :( It is hard to believe. She is legal now...well at least in the eyes of the law. :) I can tell you, if it weren't for her there would be days when I would want to totally give up on homeschooling, but she has always kept encouraging me on and on. having gone through the public schools and eventually choosing homeschooling in the ninth grade...has really given her insight into both worlds! She is so pro homeschooling and swears it has made her who she is today and has given her the tools needed for college....which I am so glad for. I was worried about how well she would do in college...especially since I basically left her alone for highschool. Oh, I had expectations of her and I gave her assignments, but for the most part...she was self taught. I am hoping someday my boys will be able to do for themselves like that. Right now that is difficult to imagine...but with a little help from above, anything is possible. :)
