Jan. 3, 2006 - a day in the life.......

Today the weather was amazingly warm!  We played outside all afternoon and now they are all down for a nice long nap or so I hope.  My daycare baby (little girl) is having a hard time with naps these days and has been waring me out! She is keeping her poor mama up at night too.  :(  I might start a new little boy next week.  After school only and probably during the summer months.  He attends public school and I am always leary of kids from our local public school...shame on me. 

I am considering buying into that Headsprout reading program for my six year old ds.  He really enjoyed the free lessons and these days I just want to get him reading, whatever it takes.  I have totally laid off of school with him and cut back his tv and video game use tons!!  I can tell it is hard for him to get through the  day without these things and that breaks my heart.  I don' twant my baby to be a couch potato.    But he really seems to depend on those things as entertainment.  We have five kids!  and of the five two have had this same inclination towards media...my oldest (who is actually my step son) who is 19 has ALWAYS been obsessed with games and computers and movies and now my sweet David.  It just goes to show you...you can have a zillion kids and they will all end up different. 

Our vacation from school will be over this week.  School starts back up the 9th and I intend on starting the boys  as well.  We need to take a field trip or something...just to jumpstart their interest again. 

Well, baby is awake! after only a 30 min nap!! Yikes!!
