Jan. 10, 2006 - Our first day
Well, yesterday was a fair success. Busy but good. I forgot how tired I get when I have to focus so hard to maintain a decent environment. It is so tempting to turn on the tv and send them off to another room so I can breath!! DS 6 actually sat and did all his school work and didn't even complain or ask for breaks. He also didn't mention video games at all. I was very proud of him. Last night, when we prayed before bed, I said a special prayer for him (so he could hear it) and he loved it so much that this morning he recalled it and asked if we could do it every night. Made my heart glad.
DS 10 did most of his work on his own in his room. He is so proud of his room now. He did very well in all subjects and actually said he enjoyed school. I only hope this continues. I will have to ber careful not to stress them out with too much and make sure we all take a mental break once in a while to play and be quiet. I think that is as important to the success of our day as academics.

I think the kids enjoy the routine of it all almost as much as we do! Plus, they love having something engaging to do...much better than the passiveness of tv (although it is tempting, huh?).
Hope tomorrow is even better than today for ya!
Love,
