Incredibly sad

I, like everyone else, was moved as I watched the hurricane footage on TV. I felt a sense of unbelief as it unfolded. But, nothing prepared me for the pictures coming across my TV today, as I watched a bus full of elderly and sick people explode and burn. I just cried and am tearing up again just typing this. I am trying to wrap my brain around this and trying to understand why? I know the Lord has His reasons and all but I am just so sad today.

I hear you - isn't it terrible?

Alright, not to sound trite, nor encourage you to put your head in the sand, but turn the TV off. I'm serious. Watching the slanted, biased, 10% truth and 90% fiction, doom and gloom news is only going to do harm, not good.

We don't know, 'why', and it's not our place to know, 'why' - that's a hard place to be in this day and age of internet we can know anything we want right now! It's tough to accept that this is not our place at the moment. What is our place is to be on our knees, praying for families, that God's hand would hold back many tragedies, and that He might show Himself to some lost families in the process. It's our place to clean out closets and pantries of gently worn clothing and household items in preparation of shipment to whatever area is going to need them. It's our place to prepare children to donate some of their favorite toys - to draw pictures to send.

All easier said than done, surely, but it is possible.
Hang in there, and know I'm sending you a hug.
Mrs. L

I know you are right and I spent some time in prayer last night and will continue to pray for these people. Living so far away from the area affected, I feel so helpless. But I can pray and I can donate. Thanks for the reminder and hug.
