Chocolate dipped chocolate chip cookies

These are soft, chewy cookies and are SOOOO good!

2 sticks unsalted butter
2 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/4 cups brown sugar
1 egg
1 egg yolk
2 tablespoons milk
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups semisweet chocolate chunks

1 bag milk chocolate chips for melting

1 bag white chocolate chips for melting

Heat oven to 375 degrees F.

Sift together the flour, salt, and baking soda and set aside
. Melt the butter and add the sugar and brown sugar. Cream the butter and sugars on medium speed. Add the egg, yolk, 2 tablespoons milk and vanilla extract and mix until well combined. Slowly incorporate the flour mixture until thoroughly combined. Stir in the chocolate chunks.

Chill the dough, then drop by tablespoons onto greesed baking sheets. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown, checking the cookies after 5 minutes. Rotate the baking sheet for even browning. Cool completely.

While cooling, melt the milk chocolate in a microwave safe bowl and after the cookies are cooled, dip one half of each cookie into the melted chocolate. Place on wax paper to harden.

Next, melt the white chocolate and place the metled chocolate into a pastry bag or a ziplock bag and snip off one corner. Drizzle white chocolate over the entire cookie and let the chocolates harden completely.

We also chopped some walnuts really finely and on some of the cookies we sprinkled walnuts onto the melted chocolate instead of drizzling the melted white chocolate.

Enjoy!
