Week in review

Well we made it through the first week of school and I think it went very well! I have pictures of the first day here  . We started early Monday morning with gift bags for the kids with their school supplies and a special treat of danish and juice boxes.

We started lite this year and each day we did Bible, math, science, english and reading and my 10th grader did his IEW lessons.. We were  finished by 11:00-12:00 each day and had plenty of time to play.

Today we added TOG into our day and the kids will do some of their reading later on this afternoon. Here is Andrew's timeline picture of creation:

Hannah was so excited to start kindergarten this week and here are a few of her worksheets:

( yes I know she circled 6 and not 7 above lol)

And a narration from Apologia's Astronomy book:

Nathan's handwriting:

We also started art today using Atelier. We did the first half of lesson one of level 6a. Below are the pictures of them doing their color wheels:

Alisha's finished color wheel:

And their pictures of under the sea, which we will finish next week by adding the fish:

And:

Hannah and William made puppets:

We had a GREAT first week!

Looks like a great week, and you've inspired me to stop being lazy and add in art next week.

Hi! I found your blog through wtm boards (lurker there.) I have been sporatically following your HS journey, especially when you moved to AR. near my sis. (MO) Then when you started Barton, I knew that I had to 'meet' you. We have been doing Barton for 2 1/2 years, my DS is in book 8. I want to encourage you to keep with it, it is a very good program. I don't know where we'd be without it. You can 'find' me at Homeschoolchristian boards. Blessings!
