Homeschool Mornings at the Magic House
October 5, November 2, January 11, February 1, and March 8
9:30-11:30 a.m.
On this morning, the entire Magic House is closed to the public, and open only to homeschoolers!! Children may spend the entire time exploring or may participate in a special optional educational program the last half hour (will be announced over the PA).
Price? $5.00 per person...sorry, no passes or discount tickets
It's really nice to just let your kids run wild (well, maybe not "wild") without having to worry about them--the building will be full of nothing but wonderful homeschool families (and nice workers).
Sign up via the SHARE website (www.homeschool-life.com/mo/share ....click on the public calendar, find the date and click on it, scroll down and see where you can sign up) or e-mail Cathy at Ekcjmullins@gmail.com. Or come at the last minute. Cash works or checks made out to SHARE. I will be at the door collecting money. Be sure to use the entrance to the new Educational Center...do not use the front door.
Note: We need a minimum of 75 paid admissions to make this work (they need to pay workers to come in for those two hours), so sign up is encouraged. But even if you did not sign up, please come--it's a big house!!!! THIS EVENT IS OPEN TO ALL HOMESCHOOLERS, SO INVITE YOUR FRIENDS.

I know that when I was homeschooling, some of my friends felt very uncomfortable teaching the high school math courses. Since I have a fondness for homeschoolers, I thought maybe I would see if any homeschoolers needed help first."
As you can see from the ad, I work for Houghton Mifflin Harcourt as a Saxon Math Consultant, and have taught math for the past 7 years in a Christian High School. Although Saxon is my specialty, I can tutor in other courses as well.
Unlike Sylvan, there would be no long term commitments. Students come as often, or as infrequently as they need.
