Next Wednesday evening is the first night of Passover. We will be celebrating it at our church with many of our friends from the church. I am in charge of putting it together as I am the one with a passion for these holidays. But this will be our 6th year of doing this so it is getting easier.
Passover centers around a haggadah (order of service) that commemorates the story of the Israelites' deliverance from Egypt thousands of years ago, the story found in Exodus. We use a haggadah from a friend who is a Gentile reaching out to share Jesus with Jews and he has written a haggadah that is Messianiac, incorporating Jesus into the story and bringing out the rich symbolism of how Jesus is seen in it. In the midst of this service there is a meal together of some traditional foods. Our meal last year was quite good - chicken, kugel (noodle pudding), apple salad, vegies, potatos, and fruit salad for desert and of course matzoh.
Passover lasts then for 8 days and we usually try to stay away from unleaven bread and eat matzoh during that time. We all like matzoh but it does get tiring after about 5 days. I don't know how closely we will stick to it this year as Easter is only a few days later and I am cooking an Easter dinner(just found out my parents will be here for which we are all glad).
I love Passover because it is a family holiday that centers around Biblical history, something that is much more meaningful to me than what happens in our culture with Christmas or Easter anymore. I do celebrate both of those holidays, but try to avoid most of the hype of our culture and focus back on the Bible events behind them as well.
For anyone who is interested in knowing more check out the website www.chaim.org That is where we got our haggadah from.

Amen, Amen, and Amen!!! Passover was commanded to be celebrated! Obviously God wants us to remember His miraculous working in our lives. That includes in my mind Christ's birth, death, and resurrection. BUT that doesn't mean buying into the secular celebrations of Christmas and Easter as they are done in USA. It's almost disgusting how Christianity's holy days with rich spiritual significance have been morphed into a consumer opportunity or blended with pagan customs.

We have a huge Easter Dinner planned. My mom just got done chemo and radiation for breast cancer after her masectomy in Sept. She has planned this meal all the while in the chemo chair with books and magazines, praying and waiting for April to come so she could celebrate Easter with her family. I just hope it lives up to the hype. She is well and that is prayers answered. Now we are blessed to have a healthy Nana back.

We celebrate Passover too, although only with one big dinner. My mom's stepfather was Jewish and she became a Christian in her early twenties. As we grew up, she would incorporate Passover elements into the Easter dinner.
We have Lamb and all of the Passover elements and briefly go through a Messianic Haggadah that I got from Chosen People Ministries. We don't continue to observe for the additional days though. As the kids get older, I'd like to do more.
Have you looked at Heart of Wisdom? They have a book on Jewish holidays that I would like to get.

I am not sure if the book you mentioned is Biblical Holidays by Robin Scarlata. I use that one for most holidays. I find it hard to get the fall holidays in but last year we did make a booth up at our church and celebrated the Feast of Booths at the harvest party.

I'm not Jewish either, but we are grafted in to Israel, right?
My Bible study fellowship is celebrating Passover this Sunday and with all that were invited there are 95 people expected. Since my family cannot all come at that time we are going to celebrate on Thursday here at home which will be nice and the first time we are celebrating it alone.
It's always good to meet others who share a love for the Biblical feasts.
