Interesting perspective on the Fannie Mae and FReddie Mac bailout

The news about the government taking over Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac really concerns me as a person who is looking to see less government involvement in my life not more.  I am not saying that there was an other real alternative, but I am  concerned about the implications.  And I wonder if there will ever be a reversal.  Our government has a history of not letting go of power once it gets it.  But anyway there is an interesting article here about how this decision benefits China much more than it does us.  Worth reading.

It's nice to see that others are thinking along the same lines. I am reading the book 'The Third Alternative: Christian Self-Government' written by Bill Burtness. From reading it I see that this issue with Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae is leading us closer to tyranny. The state governing each individual. Where is the media? Where are the citizens? Interesting. Our society wants to be told what to do~ or let the 'government' take care of us. Well, they are. We are seeing it~ more blatantly each year.
Nice to be back... I have moved my blog~ come visit. (I put the new link on my homeschool blog)

Hey Jennifer,

I was listening to some experts on the radio last night talking about how this bailout, general misuse of funds from mortgage and insurance companies, will effect the every day American. One African American woman was talking about how hard this will hit the pockets of the lower, urban middle classes. She spoke quite eloquently about how those who have maybe saved for three - five years for a 5% mortgage will now not be able to get loans - even if they have a steady income. It will make credit criteria even harder, and those who cannot put down 20% or more will not be able to own their own homes.

According to her perspective, the greed of Wall Street has come home to hit the common the man who had nothing to do with much of it. Most of us never took subprime loans, and those who did, probably didn't know much about what they were getting into. Now everyone will pay.

Sad commentary. It frightens me too.
